Boys I have been to all the web sites and I can't find a single new gun chambered in 7x57, anyone know of a manufacturer that is chambering this round? FS

I think I heard Ruger M77 is in 7x57 but you'll have to order it.
Brno/CZ was in the past and shyould still do

Remington used to chamber their Mountain rifle in 7 x 57. Wholesale Sports is listing a Ruger No. 1 in it. $939.95 assuming they can actually get one. Ruger doesn't list it on their site. However, as you know it, appears to have been replaced by the 7mm-08 and 7mmWSM.

it's called the 7mm-08 Remington
See Tod, once again you're misleading people.
To begin with, it's based on that silly idea that short actions are better.
And it also has the horrible 9-letter R word at the end of it.
Buy a CZ, Fassteel, and you'll never look back.
The Ruger No.1s are great too.:)

Might not be new but I love my 7X57 Mauser.
You can find them if you look. Not pretty but built to last. Or buy a new
Mauser if your wallet's thick M98. Still a huge calibre in Europe, kinda like the 30-06 here. Awesome deer cartridge. Ruger and CZ BRNO makes one as well I believe , and lastly Remington has a new contract with the factory that made Mausers for Charles Daly and is making a line of "Mausers" that mite have that 7x57. If you like Remington. You might still be able to get one from Charles Daly on there website...very attractive prices too but there going fast and is likely going to be a synthetic stock choice only.
Hope this helps good luck!

Fasteel, if you go to the gunshows you should be able to find one. The old Brno's are very nice, and I am sure there are alot of other outfits that made them too. Are you only interested in a brand new gun?

Buy the action of your choice and put a 7x57 tube on it ;)

In all seriousness, the Ruger Nno.1 and Ruger M77MkII are bopth offered in 7x57, but they are forever on backorder as they don't make many of them. Wholesale told me about a year of waiting last time I called.

Well worth the wait though!

your losing with the 7x57 ;)

velocity(ft/sec) muzzle 100 200 300 400

Remington 7x57 140 PSP CL 2660 2435 2221 2018 1827

Remington 7mm08 140 PSP CL 2860 2625 2402 2189 1988

I disagree. In a proper action (ie, Ruger No.1), the 7x57 beats the pants off 7mm-08. WAY more case capacity. The factory loads are kept mild due to all the old Mauser 1891 rfles still chambered in 7x57 - sadly.

Check with Wholesale Sports in Edmonton. They had a new Ruger Number 1A in 7x57 on the rack last week. They make a very handy deer rifle :)

Sorry, you have not convinced me and I wont be trading the 7mm-08 in for a 7x57.

If you want one fine, but I dont need one.

I really got no problem with the 7x57, I think its a pretty cool round, same as the 6.5x55.

But in terms of newness, new rifles (for the most part), you're better off going with a 260 Rem or 7-08, especially if you buy factory ammo.
