Sorry for the link, my uploader keeps failing to upload photos.....

I am wondering if there is any place that I can order something similar. I like this style of brake, I think would rather unique on a CZ. I am starting a new 858 project and on the lookout for something unique. I searched through the sticky section and some other threads and could not find anything. Any suggestions? Thanks

lol, try Mossberg maybe.

Well, I think Mossberg does make them for .30 barrels, if they did you'd just need the correct thread (to match that of the Vz) and the proper index point and maybe some crush washers.

ps. I didn't actually notice that it said Mossberg on the box until just now :p

lol! Well this sounds encouraging. How do you find the proper index point?

I would think it would just be the closest to having it threaded on all the way, and still horizontally oriented. It would need the little index slot milled into where ever that point is, and like I said probably a crush washer or shim.

That's great info thanks. Bit of a PITA but worth the effort I think. Or I'll wind up with a cool looking paper weight. In any event, at least I'll know! Lol. I sent off an email to Western Gun Parts to see if they have any or can get them. If I do get me hands on one, I'll let you know how it works out.

Well, CZs work perfectly well with their beaver barf stocks...;)

The stock look is okay, and there sure are a multitude of great looking custom builds out there. I am just looking to put together something different from the ground up. Something that suits my taste. Clearly I have nothing better to spend my money on. Maybe I need to get a life, but I think I'll hold off on that until the CZ is done......:dancingbanana:

ah I c, whatever floats your boat. Dont take that staement personal, was just wondering myself.

Oh no that's cool, I like to be a bit of a jackass once in a while. I had a heavily modified 858 and sold it recently to a good friend. I bought that one completely finished, now I want to put one together myself. Being somewhat familiar with them now, I would like to step outside my comfort zone and start to mess around with them a bit and learn more about what makes them tick. Hopefully that will result in a one off custom 858 that will make me smile each and every time I pick it up!

My stock comment was a little joke for bfiles, who has awesome wood stocks on his CZ/VZ.

If you're going for something different and you start with a Mossberg brake, I'd love to see what it looks like when you're done.

sounds like jealousy to me. :D

Just a little bit.

Ok, a large bit!:D

There are a number of great looking wood stocks out there, I totally agree. Not sure if I have seen bfiles's stocks, but I noticed the Druganov style from Dmitri that I really liked. Also his Spike's barrel shrouds look fanttastic when modified to fit 858's, although I don't know if I would want to remove the front sight. I need to track down a stright line AR adapter for folders, and then decide on an AR butt stock. The front runner so far is the Ergo Grips 4925-DE F93, but I have yet to see them all.

Western Gun Parts cannot get the Mossberg wedge brake, so unless I get lucky on the EE and find someone willing to sell it seperately from the gun I'll be SOL on that. Maybe I can mofify an AR brake in the same way??

I haven't even purchased the new CZ yet. I jumped on some parts that were available. Next few days I'll pick up a new non-restricted folder. Thus far, I have the first Mystic Precision Mpod to be released ( Jerry was nice enough to sell me the prototype with the upgraded hardware ). You can find a photo of them in the precision rifle parts EE. Also a few other unusal bits and pieces. Oh yes, and a real nice Nikon scope. So I guess you can say the project is off the ground, minus the CZ itself! lol. If I can work out a cool looking brake, I think I'll have the frame work mostly in order. When I have everything mocked up, off to Cobra it goes for some custom imaging. I will certainly post photos when it is all done. Target date is next two months, sooner if any gunsmithing I should need goes relatively quickly.

Once again an excuse to show off the bad boys.

18.5" CZ not shown due to it being built up by a very nice and secret project!!!

Ah, a shameless plug to show off your toys.... I likely! As far as wood goes, I actually prefer the lighter tones like yours. And the AK style slots on the forend look great too.
I am trying to decide on a side scope mount. My last one had a Kasat mount, but Hical seems to have two that look interesting. And an extra rail to boot. The one with the quick release is my preference, however the other one they have has slotted grooves, I'm guessing for a little less weight. Trouble is it is a fixed mount. I wonder if I can find a way to modify the fixed mount to accept a quick release. Or have the slotted grooves machine into the quick release version. Then it will match the Mpod and the gen 1 NEA upper and lower hand guard.

If it were easy, where would the fun be right?

I will be waiting to have a look at your special project. Any ETA?

Contact Dimitri he has made an airsoft product work on a 858 before. Can't remeber the threads name but it had something to do with an vintorez knock off mod. Then find a airsoft metal brake that is the 1 that is pictured and dill out the center of it for the 7.62 bullet. With a fine dremil tip add the detent spot in the proper index postion and volia. Please post pic's once your done and don't froget to slap that drum mag on that I sold ya ;)
