Anyone make an AI type chassis for Savage

Stage 2 AICS is cool and all, but the big metal hinge right in front of your mouth when it is cold out sucks major a$$.

Are you in contact with the hinge when shooting prone? Would be using a 20moa rail and med rings so I dont know how far up the cheek rest will be. I plan on full year service with any of my stuff(-40 to +30c) .

And to Rick a stage 2 in the original post color would be cool too;)

Will a black stage 2(folding) version be avalible in the near future? Very nice work! Is there room for a gloved finger? Looks like the trigger is farther forward than in the 700 series. Hope you have lots of extra mags:)

The folder is a whole different chassis assembly. At this time no plans for 1, but who knows.
Black skins are on order we hope Wolverine can supply them soon. We do have a fair stock of mags on hand.
You are correct the trigger does sit 1/4" further forward than it does on a 700, but we have not found it a problem.

Yeah, I shoot my stuff in the full Alberta temp range as well. If I have free time to shoot, I shoot. I don't care if it is windy, and +30, or snowy and -30. I had a stage 2 for a while, and the bi9ggest reason I got rid of it is that the hinge was a big uncovered cold sink in the cold. Maybe I am a candy a$$, but if you are cool shooting that hinge in the cold, let me know, and we can meet up for a shoot. ;)

I am a candy a$$ too. I get out of the tent after -40;) I think that I still like the idea of a 20" barrel and the folding stock with a few 10rd mags. If Rick makes a stage 2 version I think my wallet is going to cry! Looks sweet in the original OD!

As much as I like the idea, that is going to be a very expensive Savage after that stock is installed.

I understand the mag system is worth 1/2 the price alone, I just want to save money when I am building a Savage, or else I would build off a Remmy or better.

But for those guys that only have a savage and they want the AI it is great to have more options.

Is a long action in the works?

Pics of the finished product. We have units ready to ship. :)

WTF dude.. your first post and it is this..LMAO.. I smell a troll

:feedTroll:

actually, i own a 2.0, didn't want to hurt anybodys feelings. Just don't see the point in slaping on the skins when the port dosen't line up and when you scope that thing, it's gotta be at least 12" from floor to top turret with the lowest bipod on the market, not very low pro tactical in the real world.

Just my opinion DUDE, not everybody drools over Ricky

What does this have to do with Rick? The chassis stock is a copy of the Accuracy International stock that has been used all over the world by civilian and military shooters for close on to several decades now. Rick and his company had entirely ZIP to do with the design and utility of this stock configuration. All they did was machine a chassis to fit the Savage rifle action and accept the AI skins and hardware.

If you don't like it, complain to Accuracy International. I'm sure they will be happy to tell you to go #### off!
