Anyone make AR 14.5" pencil barrels?

So this brings up an interesting question. When did the CF or Diemaco switch to the .750 FSB?

As I've said before I've never seen a .625" in service and I've been in since the late 90s. I'm not even convinced that all of the original issue were .625". They may have transitioned to ease the logistics of having a common FSB. I have no way of proving that the '85-87 C8s that I've handled with .750" FSB came that way originally but I have no reason to think that they came with .625" barrels either.

Not sure if these will meet your requirements but we do have 14.5 Pencil barrels in stock.

I distinctly remember my issued C8 in '86 had a .625" FSB. At the time I was with 4 CMBG Reconnaissance in Germany, and I believe we received the new weapons pretty much as soon as they were available. I have photos of it somewhere comparing it to the contemporary C7 with .750" FSB. Not sure when they changed to a .750" on the carbine, but the first issued ones certainly were .625". The barrel in my collection is a mid 80's production CF one and is .625".

My humble entry. First clone I ever did. Receiver has been changed over to a Colt Canada since these were taken.

If you can find some divot take-down pins you will be there. If you really want to go crazy, find a shiny plastic pistol grip, semi-gloss glass-fibre hand-guards and a Canadian receiver extension. Do you have the large forward assist plunger on the new upper? When the C8 came out, they all had the over sized FA.

I've had this one in the EE for the past several months. Lots of interest in just buying the upper but I preferred it all went complete. A nice fellow offered to trade me an HK45CT with 5 mags for it so we're going that route.

It's one of my most favorite ARs to look at and handle, but sadly I've never had occasion to take it out and shoot it. I'll miss it but I'd prefer someone actually give it some range time; should shoot extremely well with its DD cold hammer forged barrel. In its place my Colt 6520 and C8A2 will suffice. :)
