Anyone make custom revolver barrels?

It seems like every revolver I lust after has a 4" barrel, which is unavailable to me because I am not 12(6). Is there anyone out there that makes custom barrels for revolvers to bring them into restricted teritory?

I've seen Questar do this with Glocks of course, but revolvers are a different matter...

Ideally I'd like a S&W 625 or 686 with a 4.2" barrel.

If money is not an object, you could buy a 5 inch 625, and have the barrel cut down and re-fitted to the length you want. I have a 629 that someone had that done too. Just make sure whoever does it knows what they're doing, as the 629 has an issue with timing that may be a slight kink in the frame...... Personally I love my 5" 625, wouldn't want to shorten it.:D
 
Get your gunsmith to order a Douglas blank either from Douglas or Brownells, they offer them in short lengths, and you might get 2 or 3 barrels out of 1 blank.
