Anyone molding/loading 124 gr. 9mm Lee tumble lube mold

....TL bullets from Lee molds should not be sized in any manner. ......all work to cause bullet wobble and keyholing.

Have had the tumble lube molds from the onset (9mm, .40 S&W & .45 ACP). Can only speak from my experiences and while 80% of the casted bullets are within spec, they are sized to ensure uniformity (9mm - .357). Its an extra step but worth the exercise as opposed to having a round which results in failure to battery.
As BH mentions, the walls of the lube grooves do collapse, however, once its been re-lubed the remaining groove depth is sufficient to hold enough. Never had keyholing issues with .40 S&W or .45 ACP. For now, thanks to the replacement mold, my 9mm keyholing is a thing of the past!
Its not that Tumble Lube molds are the best, but for the price and resulting accuracy w/ minimal to non-existent leading, these are hard to beat. Happy Shooting!!!

BTW, anyone using TITEGROUP with this specific 124 gr. RN Lead Mold? Any loading info appreciated. Am after a 125- 130 PF.

Hmm... I use that mold for my P226 9mm. I was actually getting some key holes in the beginning, but after some months, I got no more for some reason. I after reading this thread, I guess the lead hardened. Shot thousands of rounds with zero KH anymore from same batch of lead, water dropped.

I use 3 light coats of Xlox lube to get no leading at all (just as clean as factory if not cleaner). 1 coat was useless and 2 coats was okay. 3 is perfect. I don't know why I need 3 coats, but it works. They shoot fine as far as I'm concerned. I won't know forsure until I use a real bench rest.

I don't the OAL exactly but it's really short b/c any longer, bullet will touch the rifling. (I forget unless someone wants to know). I use 4.0gn of W231.

Hey J777, maybe try a larger dose of Xlox and do the lube process once instead of 3 times. Because I size, I do a light lube on the 1st pass, then a regular amount on the second pass. As with your current results, leading in my case is likewise, a non-issue.
Did a standing sand bag rest during my last test at the range and got a 2 1/2" 5 shot group at 25 mtrs. You should be getting the same accuracy results.
Unlike the 1st mold, this replacement mold yielded no keyholing from any of the batches made. They are water drenched and used 24 hrs. after.
