Hey guys, wondering if anyone had ordered optics from brownells?
They got the Bushnell 1 mile conx for 300. Is it allowed to be imported?
And how much is usually shipping or any other costs bringing it over?

If you use the "available outside USA" filter, the BUSHNELL - ELITE 1 MILE CONX RANGEFINDER is on the list.

Don't forget to add the shipping plus Brokerage, duty and taxes and then multiply by at least 1.27 and you'll have the real CAD $ cost...

That tutorial I notice is for gun parts, since this is a non firearm part do the same paperwork apply?
Or is it simple as checking it out and putting in a Canadian address?

Basically they send you a .PDF, you print it off and sign it, scan and send it back in email. Done. Wait for the mailman.

Yep, Sandy and the others in their Export Department are very good at giving you the proper information. Takes 5 minutes to fill out the form.

Note - pick USPS as shipping method. Note that the initial tracking you get will say UPS - don't panic, they use UPS to send to the USPS trans border system then Canada Post gets it.
You will not have to pay the UPS blood money for Border Brokerage fees.

I used to be about 50% on Canada Customs messing with my Brownell's orders (GST and $9.95 fee), but it seems now it is all of my Brownell's shipments get picked and taxed.

If you can talk to Sandy at Brownells in export as she will tell you what will need to be done with no drama. She is awesome as others have said.
As Paul said about USPS.
UPS is nothing short of legalized extortion!!!

Me too... and doesn't it piss you off that Canada charges you $9.95 to collect $3 in GST.

Yes, very much so, but bloodsucking UPS charges about $25 or more (depending on the listed value of the shipment) to do the same.

Years ago I ordered a $500 dollar motorcycle part from Cali via UPS - boy was I surprised with nearly $200 worth of fees and charges (plus tax). NEVER again will I use UPS trans border.

^^^This. Got the email requesting the .pdf returned when I checked my email in the afternoon. Turned it around, emailed it back (signed). When I checked my email the next morning it had already left the warehouse.
