I just recently bought a Winchester 1907, and I managed to find one unbroken box of CIL 351WSL - but I am hesitant to shoot it because of it's scarcity.
I have researched this cartridge on the 'net with limited success. One website suggests modifying the .357 Maximum cartridge - which appears to be a feasable route - but they do not give any reccomendations for bullets, or powder charges. The author of another site states that he uses .38 Super brass, with a .38 Auto powder charge - but again, no reccomendation on bullets. Has anyone utilized either of these methods?
From the info that I have found, the 351WSL used a 180 gr, .352 dia. bullet. Could a 147 gr, 9mm .355 dia. be used as is, or would it be best to run it through a swaging die to resize it to .352? Another possibility for a bullet would be the 180 gr, .357 dia. silhouette bullet, available from Hornady, but it would definitely need to be resized.
I am also looking for any reloading info. A scan from an old reloading manual would be fantastic, if possible. Any info greatly appreciated. TIA.
