Anyone own a Fabarm shotgun?

Yeah I hope it holds up, should be nice for slugs and I'll bet it'll be fine for shot once I get some time behind it shooting clays.

I bought the trs to put on an sks but I think I'll leave it on the Fabarm, never did like the way the bc tactical scout mount locked down. Too much variation in the rear sight base of sks it seems, mine would never lock down level. When I snug down the rear set screw it just pushes the rear of the mount up and out of level, never locking it down. The roll pin would bend as well, same thing when I replaced the roll pin with a solid steel rod.

I have a lefty XLR 5 semi auto and it's a great all around gun that will serve pretty much any purpose I need. It has really nice wood and enough engraving that you wouldn't get looked down on by snobs at the sporting clays course and it'll handle any 3" lead/steel shot cartridges you want for hunting.

If you're thinking of getting one I'd jump on it now, seems like the prices go up every time I check. It'd be nice if some big name retailers would stock Fabarm. Having only one dealer in Canada is holding the brand back in my opinion.

Nice looking gun the xlr5, although not what I was looking for at the moment I will pick up a nice wood stocked semi 12g at some point. I'm a sucker for a wood stock as well as a blacked out tactical shotgun, wish I had the funds and space to have more toys lol.

I have a sat 8. Awesome shotgun; feeds everything. Now that I've taken it out birding a few times I do have one gripe. The loading ramp has a crescent cut out on the end and I've got my thumb caught in it a few times which hurts especially when it catches my thumb half way up the nail and closes trapping my thumb. I'm used to the flat end of the 870 where my thumb doesn't fit. Is it just me? Anyone modify it? Swap it? Technique I could try??

I have a 14", LPA sights.

Originally came with a pistol grip but didn't like it. Friend bought exact same gun without pistol grip so we swapped stocks.

Cut the stock down to 12" LOP (like Hogue youth size) and installed Limbsaver R3 pad.

With those sights and stock angle it really needs a bit of a cheek riser imo. Wish someone made an over-sized safety for the Fabarm.

Excellent SG.

My friend shooting my Fabarm Pro Forces, started filming late, didn't get all 5 shots. We were using garbage Win/Un #4 shells and had some extraction issues but ran clean here:

Yeah look like nice guns. Just a hair too 'Tac-cool' for me.

What shells are you guy firing? High brass by the looks of it.

Mostly #4 Win U, maybe some 00 Buck S&B mixed in? Brought that too... trying to get rid of the Winchester Universal ammo I bought and never buy it again.

Ah yeah just asking as your friend seemed to be taking a few good wacks. Throw some 3" Mag slugs through it and see if he's still smiling.

My pump has no issues with the Winchester slugs and 00buck, or the federal 7.5 target loads and yeah the 3" magnum loads are interesting haha.

Winchester Universal bulk shot shells are junk (widely known), they expand or something. Extraction issues across almost every shotgun. Never had an issue with anything else.

Good to hear, i got a 14" Fabarm Martial on the way that i got on the EE. Was gonna put it up for trade on a CZ858. Might still, gonna have to shoot it first.

I had a 14" martial 10 years ago. I found the gun well made, fancy and similar to albeit nicer than an 870. With that said once I touched a Mossberg I never looked back (and i've owned Benelli's too).

A Mossberg? I work in a gun store so I get to handle and play with all the guns and I find the Mossbergs to be the worst finished flimsiest feeling guns. They're also by far the guns we get in for repairs more than anything.

I believe it. People don't talk about it when their Mossberg fails, because it's hard to criticize the underdog.

Base 500 or 590A1? It's tough to compare a $350 shotgun to one for $1000. I find my 14" Fabarm ($1069) is rock solid (###y too) and so is my 14" Mossberg 590A1 ($599), albeit very unrefined and workmanlike, borderline - ugly. It's like comparing an oil painting to a poster mounted on the wall. Mossberg sells a ton of shotguns...

I was just replying to the comment

To me that doesn't make much sense. I'm not raggin on Mossberg per say, i'm simply saying they're nowhere near the kinda gun you get with a Fabarm or Remington or Benelli etc....

Fabarm shotguns are the best 'value' out there, in my opinion.

I've owned a Martial Pro Forces (x2), SAT-8, Pistola, Axis, and now an Elos. Dollar for dollar I don't think quality or craftsmanship can be beat. I used to be an 870 guy - which are great for aftermarket parts, but I find with the Fabarm I don't have much need for aftermarket. :) Everything is high quality and solid right from the factory.

Mossberg and Remington make fine shotguns - but Fabarm is a higher priced firearm, so it SHOULD be a higher quality. And it is, in many different ways.
