Anyone own a military heritage authetic repro flintlock?.

Have never heard of that outfit till now so can't really give any useful insight. They seem to have a pretty good list of customers and comments on their own site but if you search around some other reenactment and muzzleloader sites the feedback isn't quite so glowing.

The undrilled flash hole thing makes me just a little uneasy though. I see how they do that for legal reasons and to broaden their market but somehow it strikes me as a bit too much of a weasely tactic to get away with selling something that may or may not be what the buyer is thinking it is.

For the extra $75 I would probably look at Loyalist and the better reviews I've seen regarding what they sell and how they do business.

Is it possible that the prices aren't up to date, with the C$ having become stronger?
It would be worth asking the business why.
I have never dealt with either business, have never seen one of these guns.
But I would have more confidence in a business that is selling functionning firearms.

Thanks for letting me know about loyalist Arms guys, I'll just go with them. I thought that the military heritage was the only major Canadian distributer of repro flintlocks...

Loyalist is a great company! Mr Blair is really a nice guy and if he has the time doesn't seem to mind chatting on the phone now and then!

If your looking for a musket, there are a few very good ones on the EE now for a relatively fair prices, 1 or 2 hundred more then a new loyalist one.

But non teak/sheesham stock wood, thats a big bonus in my books, and a bit easier to find replacement frizzens and springs which WILL be a issue with any flintlock at some point.

If I were to buy a new Indian musket I would pay for a couple extra treated frizzens to come with it...So if one grinds out you have another to use while you send off the other or caseknit treat it yourself.
