Anyone own a Norinco NP-34 and a Glock 9mm?

So looking for owners of both mentioned pistols, and please not looking for shooters opinions which gun is better unless you own both.

I have the NP34, with Hogue grips and a SRT trigger kit, love the way it shoots, but damn there is so many Glock accessories out there, and may sell my NP34 to fund a Glock purchase.

Any real world opinions will be appreciated on whether I should keep the clone, or buy a 9mm Glock.

Have you shot glocka before? Not that they're anything special but this is somewhat a loaded question, a lot of people love Ford but it'll be a cold day in hell there's ever one in my garage.

That being said, if you haven't shot one you can always PM me. I don't mind whoring mine out to whomevers interested and it'll give you a much better idea if it's worth selling what you already have or not.
 
Why would you want to switch to a Glock just because there are so many accessories out there? Almost none of these accessories will make you a better shooter except sights. Gotta have good sights.

If you really like the Norc, stick with it. Or upgrade to a genuine SIG.
Comparing a DA/SA metal gun to a polymer framed striker fired gun is really like comparing apples to oranges.
The Glock has a completely different operating system than your SIG clone. The SRT trigger is far better than the stock Glock trigger in SA mode but the Glock is a far simpler gun to use.

I’m a Glock fan and I love them but OP, don’t change for the sake of changing. If you love the Norc, stick with it and buy more ammo instead.

Unless you buy the Glock to go along with the Norc, simply wanting to change guns just because there are many accessories out there is not a good enough reason in my books.
 
Thanks for the feedback, I am old school when comes to metal frames, after having Colts, and Rugers for years. I did buy a poly framed 22/45 which I like, but the Glocks seem to have a strong following.

Think I will try out their Glocks, as now I think about it, asking for opinions when I can shoot them beside each other was kind of dumb.

I really have had absolutely no issues with the 228 clone, SRT kit, and finger grips, made a huge difference, but my friends have Glock 17s and 19s, so thought I would ask as they are Glock fans. :).

Handled their Glocks, have not shot them though. I do like the decocker, exposed hammer, and drop free metal mags of the 228 clone, but the mag availability and Glock after market parts are hard to ignore.
 
I had a couple np34 and lots of Glocks. They don't have much in common other then the caliber. I sold the norincos when I downsized as they're just beater guns imo. My gen4 Glock 17 is a keeper with Warren Tactical sights. I have other pistols too but Glock is my only plastic gun.
 
You have someone local to you asking if you want to try their glock. I would take them up on their offer and go try one yourself, you may like/dislike and could make a much easier decision from there. Take your pistol as well so can try side by side, no better way to find out than that.
 
The simple solution to this is to get the glock of your choice and keep the np34. You can decide after that if you don't want the np34. Personally i prefer an all steel hand gun to a steel/alloy one. And an alloy one too a plastic one. Maybe you're the opposite.
 
dont forget the iconic 1911....aftermarket is huge for parts/upgrades and you can get them in a variety of price ranges and calibre's. Nothing wrong with Glocks, i am just not a fan of their triggers. I would keep the norc and if you have a hankering for something new (many here suffer from that affliction daily) then just go to your local range and ask someone if you can shoot their pistol/s and decide what you like. And yes, i have used both glocks and norcs. They ARE different animals.
 
If you're looking to upgrade from your NP34, pick up a SIG P229, or a P228. As you no doubt know, NP34 are copies, no rails = P228 copy, more recent rails version = P229 copy.

I also owned an NP34 (first edition). It was a novelty, since I already had and liked my P228 and P229 pistols. You can also find the M11 (no rail version of P229) are also kicking around. Prices vary, as does condition. P229 aren't fetching top dollar and are much nicer than the NP, in my opinion. I shoot the P228/P229 better than the Glock 19 equivalent, and happily own Glocks too. Each pistol has a devoted following, and there are lots of reasons for that. If you can visit a gun renting range, see if you prefer the Glock 19 or the SIG P229. Done. There is nothing wrong with your NP34, I believe you'll like the "real thing" better.
 
Thanks for the feedback, I do like the Glock but the SIG design feels right in my hands, something about all metal design appeals to me the more I think about it.
