Anyone own an XDM in Canada?

Hi. I'm looking for anyone who has successfully imported an XDM into Canada. Would like to know how you've dealt with the 10 round mag problem and what you think of the pistol.

There are a couple related threads regarding Canadian availability and how to get around the fact that Springfield, nor anyone else, seems to make a 10 round mag.

Thanks in advance for any info.

That ten round mag is an excuse. ####ing Springfield just don't want to sell this find pistol to Canada. They can made the ten round mag for the XD line and why couldn't they made the mag for the XDM. I got piss off. I've been waiting and waiting, and don't seems we have luck.

I think you guys are misunderstanding the market for 10 round mags. It's not just Canada, but Mass and Cali as well that have a 10 round restriction.

Springfield will make a 10 round XDm mag for California ALONE, never mind the 2 or 300 they might sell in Canada.

These are coming, just hold your horses.

No, I get it. The problem is that I called Springfield myself and the rep told me they have no immediate plans to offer a 10 round mag. The XDM has been out for a while. If California and Mass were a priority, we would have seen them by now.

There's a long thread of discussion on the availability of the XDM in Canada. Check out the link in my first post.

I wish you were right, but after talking with Springfield, Canadian dealers, and after market mag manufacturers in the US, I have 0 confidence they are coming soon. Certainly not in the next 12-24 months.

Which is why I was pushing the other thread on pinning factory mags to 10 rounds as a way to get an XDM up here faster.

Anyone have an XDM in Canada? Anyone? Bueller?

one way to get a xdm

Looking at trying to get a xdm this way...take the front sight course in Nevada...http://www.frontsight.com/free-gun.asp they offer a xd in your choice but e-mailed owner and has agreed to let me pay the difference to get a xdm..also hope to add on the price 6 spare mags (may lose 1-2 trying to get them pinned by myself or his armorers). As for importing I e-mailed border and customs U.S. about the best way to bring back because it is a gift and I got this response... read from bottom up-Just waiting on final prices and then see what happens, as long as mags are pinned should be no problem to bring back but doing some research to be sure------------Subject

If you acquire the weapon while in the U.S. and wish to take it home with you (outside the U.S.) you do not need to report it to U.S. Customs. Contact your airline for instructions on how to comply with TSA requirements for packing the firearm for travel.

Thank you for contacting Customs and Border Protection's Customer Service Center. If you have any other questions or would like clarification on this response, please feel free to contact us either by calling our toll free number 877 CBP-5511 (227-5511) or if calling from outside the United States our toll number 703-526-4200 and speak with a Public Information Officer. Our hours of operation are Monday thru Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm Eastern Time.

Would like to receive it while in Nevada and bring it back with me, but what would you suggest as the best way to handle this?

Are you bringing the firearm to the U.S. or receiving it in Nevada and taking it out with you?

It's not that easy. You would be exporting a gun and would therefore need an export permit which can only be obtained from a business with an export license.

Dude, I would NOT be taking advice on how to export a handgun from the US from a Canadian Border Services "customer service center".

.45warrior..the customer care service was the US customs and border service...Kodiak outpost is right according to the US AFT i need to have some one export it...may get away with a Canadian INTERNATIONAL IMPORT CERTIFICATE(IIC) to satisfy US end user exporter requirements..found tips at DAVES SPORTS SHOP www.DavesSports.com here is the reply from ATF It is unlawful for a firearm to delivered (gift) to you because you
are not a resident of a State in the United States. However, the
firearm may be exported to your home country, provided such shipment is
in conformity with Department of State regulations.

In the event you wish to have a Federal firearms licensee export
firearms or ammunition to your country of residence, the licensee must
obtain an export license from the U.S. Department of State. Further
information regarding export licenses and restrictions may be obtained
from:

Front Sight all ready has a exporter lined up...

Ok. This seems clear enough. Its all pretty much as Kodiak has said (several times in several threads). What we seem to be forgetting is that the problem is not the pistol. Kodiak could probably bring it in mag-less from Springfield in the same manner as an XD (which are widely available).

The real question is the mag. How can you purchase a factory mag and get it modified so that it is acceptable for import into Canada?

This is funny. I posted the same thing in KODIAKS "So, What Do You Guys Want" thread on the same day as this.........

........................
Screw the mags. Just get the guns, no mags.

Get me an XDM and I will wait for the mags

Then import and sell the mag seperatley later........:D

I also said at another time, Are these not Croatian Pistols?? Get the mags there. Who deals with these Eastern European countries?...Marstar? Get them to make a run of 500 10 round mags.

Bumping this.

So NO ONE owns a XDm in Canada??? Come on... I don;t believe it.

Which dealer in the states is easiest to deal with? For exporting to Canada?
I want an XDm......and will just get it myself.

Dave's top right of the page. Just saving up enough $$$ to buy one. I think he wants $1000 CAD or maybe more. You would have to ask him to be sure because he would also have to modify the mag's & also get all the paper work and a FRT number done up also for ya.
