Anyone own both a PX4 9mm Handgun & 9mm Storm Carbine?

My PAL and RPAL will be here in a few days and I'm looking for firearms that both my wife and I can use for target shooting at the local indoor (pistol) range.

I've read reviews that the PX4 with the rotating barrel assembly reduces felt recoil. This would be nice for my wife who gets a lot of muzzle flip when shooting most regular handguns. I know you can get removable straps for the grips so it can be comfortable for both of us.

The carbine also takes the same magazines (10 round capacity) and has a very light recoil. I also like that 9mm is one of the least expensive choices. I'm not going to be reloading.

If anyone has either or both please let me know your experience. I'd like to be well advised before we go out and purchase.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that the PX4 pistol and CX4 carbine use the same mags. Rather, the carbine will accept 92-series mags, or Cougar mags with an adapter.
 
I have a Cx4, it uses regular 92 mags. As far as the carbine goes...its great. I really like shooting it and it is very accurate. Everyone I have let try it likes it a lot. My last outing at the range I let two different guys try it. Both of them want to go buy there own now. I should be working for Beretta on comission :rolleyes:.
 
I believe you can get an adapter to use PX4 mags in a CX4. Many guys on the Beretta Forums talk about having them. I would not try to restrict the choices just based on magazine compatibility. Let her try what is out there.
 
Thanks guys. I did a little more research and I found out that there are two in 9mm. One that uses the 92 series mags (model JX49220)and one that uses the px4 Storm mags (model JX4P915). I'll just have to make sure I specify the correct one when I buy.

The only bad things I've read about the PX4 9mm handgun is that the high capacity magazines are really hard to load and have super stiff springs. Have there been other problems with them?

I recently tried a Storm Carbine in .40 and liked it a lot. I took my wife's little sister to the range and she gave it a try too. It was the first gun she ever shot and she found it quite accurate and lots of fun.

I'm not sure my wife would go for the SAF or BRS or Brugger & Thomet. They are quite a bit more expensive.
