Yes, I want to know if anyone around here has a Rashid and how it shoots.
Any peculiarities? Any problems?
What about the accuracy?
I found a very clean untouched one and I'm going to complete the transaction soon.
Owner says he bought it about 15 years ago and never shot more than two boxes of commercial Winchester ammo through it. He still has a few boxes with the firearm.
Just can't wait!:D

I shot one last week. It's very nice. Shoots like a VZ-52. Accuracy is better than SKS IMO. PP if you don't want it I'll take it ;)

...I wish I owned one. Don't ever loose the magazine, from what I understand, they are next to impossible to find. Luckly, they are meant to be fed by stripper-clips
BTW, are the stripper clips one-of-a-kind (ref: VZ-52/57) or does the Rashid make use of the same stripper clips as the SKS?

Rasheed

I have one. Feels like a mix between a Lungman and an SKS.

Its fun too shoot. Accuracy is reasonable SKS standard (3-4" at 100 yards). Everyone who shoots it is surprised by the trgger pull which is very light. Even though I warn other shooters the first couple of rounds always go off before they are expecting them to.

I am a bit leary about using corrosive ammo due to the lack of a piston and difficulties in being able to clean out the long skinny gas tube.

Oh, don't worry!
If it is like on the Ljungman or Hakim, it is made of stainless steel and can be taken out and flushed with hot water and a syringe then scrubbed with pipe cleaners.
Thanks for the stripper clips info, Eos! BTW, is there an adjustable valve on it like the Hakim or does it do away with it?
Cheers!

I have had Rashid's for years and I would sell the SKS in a flash before I would sell mine. The Swedes set up the plant and they did the correct thing by making sure the trigger was as smooth as the M42B. I had one years ago and sold it then it took me a few years to find another one. The only thing wrong with it is some Middle Eastern soldier carved initials or unit markings in the stock. I like how it shoots and If you get the chance to get one go for it. You won't be disappointed in it.

Has a gas regulator similar to Hakim

Show us the dent in your forehead!!!
no dents, but the poor cat.........

Does it have a simple "retract-that-bolt-to-the-rear-and-release" or the Hakim's and Ljungman's "push-the-carrier-towards-the-front-then-back-until-it-releases"?

the rash has a cocking handle that floats like the FN-49. the safety mech is exactly like the hakim. the gun comes apart like the hakim. the rashid is like a FN-49 and hakim smashed together.

the Rashid is like a FN-49 and Hakim smashed together.
Oh! well, that should be a most interesting piece to take down, clean and inspect!
I expect being able to post pictures on the "April purchases" future post. :D
