anyone preorder the new Win. model 70?

The model 70 featherweigth or at least what it should have been never went out of production...the Kimber 84m.

Don't want something that light. Atleast the model 70 is still just under 7lb gun. Like I said recoil is an issue as I practice alot. any caliber in a kimber rifle comming in under 6 pounds is likely to make me want to practise less. But a nice rifle it is indeed.

I was thinking of going and putting some money down on a Model 70 SS Extreme Weather SS in 270 WSM but I bought a last production Model 70 Sporter Deluxe in 270WSM as I wanted to own a piece of history. And well one year later there is Winchester Model 70's again.. I'm a little pissed about that but well see. I think I'm going to hold them before I put money down.

No, not really. They have to prove themselves first and bring one in a chambering that I'm interested in, such as a .257 Roberts in Featherweight. Now that would get me lookin'....maybe.

I'm already full up on M70s, but the featherweight in 7mm-08 is exactly what I'd get, if I didn't already have one in 6.5x55.

It's a world-class hunting rifle. Get one and don't look back

gitrdun, While I'm not a fan of Kimber centerfire rifles, you may be interested to know that Kimbers 2008 catalog lists the .257 Roberts as being available in them 84M Classic Select Grade, the 84M Super America, and the Montana. Once again, I am not a Kimber fan, but I believe I may have to have one of those! :D
