I've been looking for about a month, but haven't had any luck locating any. I have no idea if they have ever been in stock anywhere??
You and me both. There do not seem to be any OEM spare mags in country. As far as I know the importer /distributor has not yet been able to bring any in.
We are also still waiting for the importer to conduct the Walther magazine follower and spring recall here. Walther USA has already done a full recall on early mags with red or black followers (replaced with a stiffer spring and a blue follower) and spare mags are in the marketplace.
If it helps, Canik TP9SA / TP9SF mags are a direct substitute. i have hundreds of rounds through the Canik mags in my PDP and they function every time. They are identical mag bodies made by Mec-Gar with a black follower and a slightly different shaped Canik branded base plate. As an added bonus the Canik mags are priced well below what I expect the Walther ones to come in at when they finally do arrive.
Do your Canik mags lock open on empty? I haven’t shot mine with Canik mags yet, but just in terms of function checking, mine don’t lock the slide open.
Just wondering if any of you have switched your sights to aftermarket ones. Just wondering which ones you have chosen and how was the POA/POI. Walther website indicates that the PDP is compatible with the majority of Glock 19,17 sights. I know a lot of you on this post have opted to mount a red dot so the sights are a moot point unless you want to co-witness. Having chatted with several of you in the past I know you are Walther geniuses.
I swapped out the cheap factory sights for a set of the Shadow Systems' Hi-Visibility Front Dot and Blacked-Out Rear Notch - the same (slighty taller than standard) iron sights that Shadow Systems puts on their MR and DR pistols. They co-witness perfectly with an RMR mounted on the low-cut PDP mounting plate - at least from my perspective. By way of comparison, I found that the thicker Holosun 507/508/509 optic's base is too tall to co-witness with the Shadow Systems' iron sights. YMMV.
A quick question for those who have put an optic on or swapped the sights on their PDPs: absent an actual sight pusher, can I use a punch and gently tap the rear sight out in order to install and calibrate an optic?

Just a quick update on my PDP compact. I finally have had time to head to the range and get some trigger time. The new Shadow Systems fighter sights are amazing on this pistol. I recently installed a Holosun 507c ACSS and I really enjoy the chevron style reticle over the plain dot. I have been shooting for over 35 years with iron sights so its a bit of a transition "embracing the red dot wobble". I have 500 rounds through it with 150 rounds using the red dot. I have not had any issues at all. I have used 115,124 and 147. I found that I preferred the feel of using either 115 or 124 grain.
The more I shoot this gun the more I enjoy it. IMHO its a better all around gun when comparing it to my old PPQ M2 and I thought the PPQ was amazing to shoot. Like I stated in one of the other threads - I wish someone had introduced me to the Walther family years ago.
I like the feedback on the chevron red dot. In general, I'm a fan of chevrons as they provide a very fine aiming point for rifle shooting but I have little experience on pistol red dots. I suspect, however, that this will provide the best of both worlds as the whole chevron can (in my view) be used as a coarse/fast aiming point if needed.
I've decided to go with the compact SD pro. Put my pre-order in, just waiting for them to come in - not gonna lie pretty excited.
