Anyone Recognize These Clowns???

What gets me is NOTHING that says they are prohibited from owning a firearm for so many years, seizure of the gun or vehicle, etc.

You know damn well if that was a hunter caught "poaching" a deer out of season to they'd get a fine, their rifle seized, their truck seized, and prohibited from owning a firearm for 5 years! (happened to a guy who poached an elk out of season to feed his family)

Fair bet to say that removing their firearm ownership privileges automatically happens when found guilty of a Criminal Code firearms offenses.

I too am severely disappointed that there was no firearms prohibition order handed down by the judge.

We take great care, go to great lengths and live every day with the hugely onerous law and regulations related to firearms ownership in this country. Then when a public display of wanton disregard for all of the above makes the national media, the judge doesn't even use the leverage of the FA and the CCC?

What a joke.

I also would have liked to see a monster amount of community service required of each of these idiots, preferably to be served with a conservation group.

Without doing all the legwork (I'm making supper) did they plead guilty to indictable offences? Careless use and discharge from a vehicle?

If not, a prohibition order would fall under section 110, which is discretionary.

The news report I listened to mentioned that they were made to forfeit their guns, but mentioned no prohibitions.

I didn't think that Firearms related charges were dual procedure (Been out of that game for a while).

Regardless,

1. Criminal record (s**tty future job prospects) $5000 might as well as be a million when you only employment option is "handyman" or Burger King
2. Public shame (Cudworth SK's 2001 population: 766)
3. No travel outside Canada.

Best of all:

4. No guns

My only sympathy is for the ducks and the Ruger 10/22 . Both have been destroyed.

After all the name calling and references to rednecks over this incident,it turns out these fine young men are from Toronto.

What, you can't be a dumb redneck if you are from Toronto? When did that rule come out?

Be still my heart!

These boys had all the class of an Appalachian hick, without the brains to know that it was better to stay on the porch and drink shine.

Citiots. That was the best word I have seen yet. At least they got a Lawyer that explained, clearly, the relative merits of getting their lumps done and over with, without dragging the process out and allowing a wave of public opinion to really get swinging.

They got off easy.

Cheers

Oh, these A holes are in deep #### now, I heard on the new that they caught them and they were handed down pretty hefty fines. A good old fashioned caining behind the barn would be sufficient enough as far as I am concerned.

Read my post on the last page... they weren't HEFTY fines... $16,000 between the three of them and a ban on hunting for 3 years....

Yes, the GUNS were taken but their PAL's were NOT is what I'm saying. They are free to go out and buy another firearm.

:D
They are free to go out and buy another firearm.

I would think not.

With those fresh CCC Careless Use convictions on the books Jer & the boys will probably be getting notices of PAL revocation from the CFO in the not too distant future accompanied by registration certificate revocation notices from the CFC for any remaining guns in their possession.

These idiots need to lose their PALs & guns.

We don't need sadistic shytbyrds like these three in our fraternity.

Got their just desserts

Those guys at least got some sort of punishment but not near severe enough i mean they should have had their firearms licences pulled. The thought that idiots like that can still use firearms is unsettling to say the least. Well at least with the hefty fines they probably won't be able to afford ammo or guns anyway. Just wondering why the car was not seized as well if a hunter gets caught poaching usually vehicle is seized.
