Anyone recommends cheap scope for Savage 10FP?

CyberK is selling Falcon Merlin scopes.....4-14x42 for target and hunting. From what I hear they are supposed to be good.

If you're looking for a Burris, I have a Burris FF II 3-9x40, like new, with Buttler Creek flip-ups and Leupold PRW (steel weaver style) rings I'll sell. Send me a PM if you are interested.

I have a Barska Varmint 8x32x50 on mine. Picked it up from Phil at White Falls hunting Supplies. He's a member on the board. Great scope for the price. I use it to hunt coyotes and do some LR shooting out to 400m with it.

K6 6x38 Gloss? :D Can I shoot target at 300 m with it?
You're kidding right? Fixed 6x scopes were the scope of choice on military sniper rifles for decades. I'm pretty sure they shoot a little further than 300m. I can definitely do center of mass hits at 500m using a C7 and 3.4x Elcan. I wonder how I could do with a decent quality bolt action?

People seem to be caught up in the magnification games these days. I'm buying one of the Falcon 2.5-10x scopes because they're good value, and I specifically don't want an overpowered, bulky optic that will only be good for a range gun. But to each their own.

For the cheapest scope, I'll repeat what everyone else is saying, Bushnell 10x.

If you just want to cheep out, and there is nothing wrong with that (I understand completely) how about a Tasco 2.5 to 10 by 40, mill dot and target turrets. A good friend has one on his Savage .308 and has used it in matches and hunting with very good results. The price won't kill you either at $87.00!
