Anyone reload the 307?

You could. A .307 is just a rimmed .308. The length from case head to the shoulder is 2 thou longer on the .307 though. That's the only difference other than the rim. Not enough to matter.
Case head diameter wouldn't matter with a Lee Loader. OAL is different though.
 
The 308 will work ok. The only issue is that they neck size only and sooner or later you will have to full resize. Lever actions don't have as much caming action to force tight rounds into the chamber or to extract. Maybe a Lee hand press and a set of dies should be considered. I have loaded a lot of rounds with one and as long you are not in a hurry works great. Just a thought.
 
You are playing with fire doing that,unknown powder. I looked on the Hornady site for load data and here is an example for 1 powder (H 4895) Hornady calls for a max load of 37.7 gr. On the Hodgdon site their max loads for 150 gr is 42gr and 180 gr 39 gr. Both loads over max for the 160. I would either dump the powder and work up a proper load, or get some brass and do usual test loads etc. Fore warned is fore armed.
 
Apparently Winchester loads the 180 gr with 38 grains of W748 powder. According to the Hornady chart for the 160 ftx the max loading for W748 is 40.7gr. If all this was fact would I be okay with my plan?
 
If you could confirm the exact powder yes, but manufacturers DO NOT necessarily use comercially available powders. It could be any powder or a special blend that meets their needs for various cartridges. It is your rifle and your hands and face, but I personally wouldn't do it. Just my opinion and worth what you paid for it.
