Anyone reloaded 7.62x39 for bolt action don't mind sharing info?

I have loaded for the CZ and the Zastava in 7.62x39 and for me reloder 7 worked great in both rifles. Only used for plinking at the range. 25 gr of powder with the 123 gr SP bullet both rifles group inside an inch at 100 yards....FS

X2! I'm reloading 123 gr. Hornady SST's and 123 gr Hornday Interlocks (#3140) using CCI200 primers and 25.5 gr. RL7. I use these as my deer load and there's nothing to choose between them in terms of accuracy. I reloaded the same ones for my brother's CZ and he also gets excellent groups.

I've got some 220 round nose 308 bullets I've been meaning to try and develop a sub sonic load for in my Ruger M77 7.62x39. Any tips?

Google "mouse fart loads" for the 7.62x39 The Americans run these with a muffler on their guns.

I've been playing with cast lead "heavies" in my Norinco Bolt action.
6 grains of TrailBoss under a 180 grain lead (paper patched because the bore is .317 diameter)
It is subsonic, but I don't know the exact speed because I haven't fished out my chronograph for them.
Around 4" at 100 yards, which I can improve on, as these were the first batch I tried.

I did start out with RedDot, but at 25 yards the boolits were keyholing.
If I had Unique, I would give that a whirl, but a neighbour borrowed my last pound and hasn't returned it...

Depends on what rifle you're shooting.

SKS, stick with factory loads as it won't eject/feed properly with light loads, unless you cut down the recoil spring.

If you have a bolt action, you can load light and use 85 grain pistol bullets but 100 grain half jacket lead bullets would be better. You can also load light cast bullets, which would be much better if you're saving the pelts.

Using a cz 527, not saving pelts, i can get 96 grain pistol lead bullets, what would be a light load.

I use 3gr Bullseye and a Lee 93 gr Tokarev bullet for chickens.

I have had success with RL7 and 123 Hornandy bullets. Using between 25.5 and 26 grains of powder. I have also pulled the fmj bullets from steel cased ammo and replaced with SP bullets to make a cheap hunting round. Works great for sks because they throw brass and was hard to find fired brass in the grass. I am using a ruger bolt action and can see handloading can make a big improvement over most mil surp ammo.
