Three or four of us ordered a bunch of it years ago. We loaded for our surplus Mauser 8x57's with that stuff. I know it sounds rather silly, but we swore that was magic powder! :) I also fed my 8mm-06 Mauser with it. I recall speaking with Thomas Higginson on the phone about that order. A real gentleman to deal with.

I bought my other reloading supplies from Casey's Reloading of Midland, ON. The good old days!

I used quite a bit of 47SL; shot my first .375 out with it. Still have a little, feeding it to a 375 Weatherby. It is similar to H414 and W760; just usually took another grain.

Can't remember the # but I used a pile of Nobels's version on H4831 in my .338 win mag back in the day.A buddy in his .270 win.

what was 47 equivalent of? I have been using old ammo mart 44 I had bought from a guy a few years ago. Stamped use 3031 data on the cans. It has worked very well.

I remember buying form the Old Fellow at a Gun Show in Longueuil it was in baby blue containers called Ammo Mart the containers looked the Quick chocolate powder cans is was hard to get the powder is spilled every where.

I use Ammo Mart 44 in my old Mausers and LEs. I got 16 lbs. in a deal. Lifetime supply!

I still have about 14 lbs of that SL 10 version of W760. It is great powder, and meters so well.
I have used it a lot in the 30-06 with 165 grain bullets, and the 6mm Remington with 70-85 grainers.
Dave.

Used too run a boat load of 47SL and a few other powders from Tom's shop.
Still order powder from Andrew Higginson, cousins of mine actually.
You could throw a stone from my parent's place and hit their sign made from what looked like a deactivated anti aircraft gun!

Andrew is still pulling out or finding NOS brass, good quality stuff at 1/2 the price of current commercial stuff.
Last surplus I got was WC735, and it's pretty much the only ball I've ever been able to use for real accuracy loads. I dunno why but I have bad luck getting ball shooting anywhere near extruded.

Sorry to jump in a 6 year old thread, but I have just found myself with some older powders including 47sb, and I do have a Mauser 8x57 and a LE, wondering if anyone has data for their loads?
