Anyone run a Reflex sight on your 12g shotgun?

I'm just wondering if anyone has a 12 gauge shotgun setup with a reflex sight and how it holds zero/handles recoil. Feel free to post pics if you like. Thanks.
 
I've got a Razor Red dot on my Mka 1919. So far its only seen a half a dozen slug and a hundred rounds of Score target ammo, but its held up well.

If you're looking at a reflex make sure you've got enough brightness to handle outdoor shooting.

I turn mine to maximum brightness quite often, and its a good thing that max is MAX.

I may try one on my Versa Max tactical. Of the ones I have or have tried, I think the Trijicon RMR series is the most rugged. I would trust my Delta Point on the shotgun but don't really like not having control over brightness which is set by the electronics. My latest acquisition is a Burris Fastfire III. It works well but doesn't appear to be as rugged particularly when compared to the Trijicon. For action shooting and the shotgun, I favour a reticle of about 7/8 MOA.

The Burris comes with a very neat sun shield for both the front and back of the glass.
 
I have a Hensoldt RSA-S on my Benelli M4. It works well as I can use it with the telescoping stock in the middle position, for the factory ghost rings to work the stock has to be extended fully. I had it on a a couple of 870's before that and it's seen numerous slugs, so far it seems to hold zero but in all honesty it's a shotgun and I don't ever shoot for groups off a bench. All shooting has been done offhand standing. The dot brightness adjusts automatically and is plenty bright. It can also be adjusted manually.

 
Looks awesome, except for the price of the reflex sights you guys mentioned. Are there any 'bang for the buck' models or are you just buying junk if spending under $500? Any good deals in the US, through Irunguns?
 
Well the Burris is towards the lower end of the minis. It also costs quite a bit less. Both the Trijicon and Leupold DeltaPoint are designed to perform in military conditions. Mine sits on an AR and so doesn't absorb much recoil. It's also protected by a very substantial shroud.

My Burris is on a .22 pistol upper now and so I don't anticipate problems there. There are many brands at various prices. A lot of Docter users have them on 1911 slides. Those get bashed back and forth many times as the guns cycle and I haven't heard durability of issues.

I see the Burris Fastfire IIIs on Amazon for less than $300. The older Fastfire II's are less. Make sure you get the mount you need.

The Hensoldt I bought at $499 on the first sale, then I bought another at $399 just recently, from Tactical Imports in Canada, a CGN sponsor. They had some models on for $199 just a couple weeks ago, but they had battery drain issues, hence the super deal. They're regular just under $800. Check the EE, they pop up from time to time at $400-$450 and are worth every penny IMO.

I've had a bushnell trs-25 on my benelli m4 for the last 2000 some odd rounds. Mostly high velocity birdshot but at least 400 slugs/buck scattered about in there. Aside from the dot washing out on really sunny days and devouring batteries, I was happy with it. Just replaced it with an rsa-s like the one above and find it too high for the stock at its full extension.

Burris FastFire III with Picatinny Mount is on Amazon.ca for $274.66 w/free shipping. Anyone have this particular reflex sight on a 12 gauge shotgun?
FF2 w/mount is $243.
 
This is what I bought, going to try it on my Thureon Defense carbine and my 590A1. It's new and I don't see any reviews so I'll gamble a little bit.
 
I have used both a Vortex SPARC and a Burris Fastfire II on my 887. Both survived and held zero through a couple hundred rounds of target shells and a few dozen slugs and buckshot each. For use on a shotgun, I prefer the smaller, less vision-obstructing design of the Fastfire. The SPARC found it's way to my 858 instead.
 
I have a Burris Fastfire III on a Benelli Supernova Tactical 14 inch for the last four years & It has hold zero all the time.
I sighted mine at 50 meters & been shooting lots & lots of magnum slugs over the four year period. The amazing part is that the red dot still works (glows) & haven't changed the battery to date.
