I ended up switching to IMR7828sc because its not only easier to get, but my lapua likes it better. something to consider. Got my 8lb jug of 7828 from Silhouette Shop in Duncan BTW.
hope that helps a little.

One other option that you may take into consideration is the IMR Enduron 7977 , I found it to be very similar to H-1000 & it seems to be easier to find than H-1000.

Cheers

I agree with going to IMR7828sc. You will find it as good or better than H1000 but more consistent as far as velocities go. I can't say how well Enduron 7977 works so won't comment on it. I have used IMR7828sc in everything from 6.5x55 in a Tikka T3 to the 338 Rem Ultra Mag. It behaves well in all of them. The UltraMag is not nor will ever be my type of rifle. That thing kicks like a mule. The 338Lapua does the same. Great cartridge but like the UM, most people shoot light bullets in them because they can't handle the recoil. Those cartridges were designed to shoot HEAVY bullets at long ranges. IMR7828 will do the job with both light and heavy bullets.

If you are having problems with H-1000 still, perhaps try US869. It is a bit easier to find - I am using it in both my friend and my 338LM and it shoots very well. I also find that it is frequently a bit cheaper to buy pound for pound. I get mine from Higginsons Powder in ON. They have free shipping on orders of 21lbs or more.
