Anyone seen a new Wby Vanguard magnum with the 26" barrel yet?

Why not?

As well as their "new" 6.5-300 Wby Mag, the 257 Wby, 7mm Rem, 300 Win, and 300 Wby magnums are all coming with 26 inch #2 contour barrels now.

Anyone seen one in Canada?
Ted

I'm waiting for them as well, since the 26" barrel removes my only excuse for not getting an Accuguard. The 6.5-300 cartridge is added to the "Select" series where it joins the .257, 270 and 300 on the list of cheap ammo. That's a cost effective way of getting your brass.

I ordered some 6.5x300 bras from Brass Canada last week and it came in the mail today
Now I’m just waiting for the rifle
The brass was $103 for 40 , not bad?

When it is added to the "select" list, expect to pay $55 or so per box of factory ammo. That would loaded with the Norma made Spitzer bullet.

For now, you have to do what you have to do.

I have a Weatherby Vanguard Select 300 win mag with a 26" barrel I bought from Prophet River about 2 or 3 months ago, the Vanguard Select is the same rifle as the regular Vanguard but with a black stock without the pistol grip and forend inserts, I prefer this one over the regular stock. I'm pretty sure Prophet River can order a Weatherby vanguard with a 26" barrel for you.

6.5-300Wby?
Lol....I say it needs at least 30"+ long barrel other wise all the rifle can do is being another flame thrower....
Also I would make sure that spare barrel is at hand, one for load development the other for hunting!
I say the powdered charcoal should be just around slow enough as a propellant....
What's next? 22-300Wby?
