I have been looking at the pietta pps-50 advertised on marstar. Before I spend $600 on a .22 I would like to hear what people who have purchased it think. I am looking at the wildcat version with plastic drum.

I would like to know owner's general impressions, but some specific questions I have are:

1. What is the misfire rate for the rifle?
2. How accurate is it?
3. How hard is it to strip / clean?
4. How does the drum perform / is it cheap / breakable?

Thanks in advance,

Jamie

Apparently there aren't many people out there who have the Pietta PPS-50. I did manage to talk to Dmitri who has one and get my questions answered. Thanks again Dmitri.

1. Misfire rate is hit or miss, sometimes I can unload the 50rnd drum very fast without a hick up, sometimes I get a misfire here and there.

2. Pretty accurate, 25-30 meters and i was shooting a decent grouping.

3. With the wildcat stock it's pretty easy, 1 bolt under the bottom to remove from the stock. Then there is a cap screw you can twist off which allows you to take the bolt out, and clean the rifle barrel with ease. But the small flat head screws can be a pita.

4. The drum is awesome, I am going to buy 2 more so I can go through more .22lr faster. It doesn't require a loading tool, and it is very to take apart for cleaning. And the quality is pretty damn good.

It's a great little gun for the money, my girlfriend loves it, and wants one of her own.

Hope that helps.

I came on here to ask the same question, as it looks like a really fun (and cheap) to shoot. Can you share the answers you got?

Thanks

I Have one, I got it with the "Wildcat stock" installed, jammed every other shot with the black dog 50rd drum mag it came with, and the included 30 rd stick mag wouldnt even chamber a round, I fixed this by having to file down the magwell apparently the mags werent locking far enough up when inserted into the gun, and now the 30rd stick mag fires without a problem, but due to the plastic feed lips on the 50rd drum mag it has been nothing but problems, but i love how the 30rd mag is all steel.
Cheers

Just picked up one also with the black synthetic stock.Fit an finish is ok.The 50 rd Black dog drum mag worked great for me and the only misfeeds were ammo related-Winchester.Will have to try Federal or another brand later.
The stick mag was returned for replacement and am waiting for the wood stock.Yup..It's a fun lil .22 and boy o boy is it easy to go thru a drum mag. Will also get another one cause one can never too many mags!!
Get one --and best of all it is NON RESTRICTED!!
