Anyone seen a Savage Model 1920 lately?

No, bought a lot of rifles off of Bob (great guy), but not this one. Used to love wondering into Trail and perusing the used racks, stack thick with rifles of all sorts. - dan

You Guy's probably knew my brother, he worked there for several years, then at the Phoenix range for awhile when Bob still owned that. I miss a lot of those guy's now; Tim, Blair, Ted, Stan...

Likely, knew most guys that hung out in both those places, and spent a ton of time at phoenix when Bob and the guys were running it. - dan

I did , which means I know you too lol . Ted and Stan were a pair , I miss both of them , along with Blair .

There was a fellow worked at Trail, then briefly at Phoenix - blonde he was, and when he grew a beard he looked just like Doctor Zaius from Planet fo the Apes. I shot with him once at Tofield - CAS shoot in the spring. He had a buffalo vest that was the envy of the other, more hypothermic attendees. :) What was his name?

That sounds like it might be Larry. I remember him mentioning that shoot to me.

Still have mine (300 Sav) with the Lyman #54 peep, will be the last to go or maybe get buried with me.

They were modelled after a scaled down Springfield 1903 were they not? I have parts on EE if anyone needs some.

Here is my custom 1920. It was purchased in 1951 by an RCMP officer in Pond Inlet from an expedition that came through. The rifle was vintage then, having a 1200-odd serial number.
The scope is a Noske, detachable side mount. 1930s setup. Windage adjustments in the mount. Post reticle. No idea who restocked it, mounted the scope, altered the bolt handle. The work is well done.
.250. Slow twist for 87gr bullets. It has a bit of excess headspace; no problem if handloading.

Wow, now I feel like I created a monster.

Had a few 1920's and 26's come through the door. I remember buying and selling one because it never had checkering on the stock and thought it was aftermarket but I've seen a few since then and now I'm thinking a bunch must have left the factory uncheckered and it may have been original.
