Anyone sell 1911 frame's

Looking to buy a 1911 frame , not a a1 frame, for a project rebuild of a 1917 savage slide , any leads would be great ! Thanks

Caspian makes a "classic" frame with the original contours, little over $200. If you can import them, probably cheaper/better than finding an original.

I mentioned Caspian as the OP stated "not A1" style frame. Yes its going to be more expensive, but for a Savage slide, maybe worth going the extra mile. Not sure if there are other current manufactured pre-a1 style pistols other than the Colt repros....

An original would be best, but might be hard to find as well.

Just my opinion.

I'm not sure about now, but you used to be able to get Norc, and a couple 'different' frames to STI.

Talk to Jo at Dlask - I believe that they start with blanks, he might be able to machine a 1911 spec frame from a blank for you. That way you'd get a nice tight fit, as he could leave a touch extra on the rails for lapping.
