I was just wondering if anyone here is shooting Hornady .310 cal. 123gr. V-Max bullets in any of their 30 cal rifles ? I'm not refering to the 7.62x39 rifles. Something like a bolt action 30-30 .308 Win. or 30-06 300 Mag. etc.

I am not...
Do you have an excess of them or something ?
Not sure I would go over-size with a jacketed bullet unless you have a worn bore.
I picked up a box of .308 Sierra HP 110's for light loading 30.06
Haven't had much of a chance to play around with them yet.

I originally bought a bag of 100 for my 303 but I have added a 30-06 to my collection and was thinking they might be worth playing around with. The 30-06 is new but I know you can get chamber inserts that shoot a 32acp with a .312 bullet. I just don't know where to start at with powders and loads ?

Well just be careful !! I tried loading a cast bullet from a .309 mold (bullets were mostly .310) in my Norwegian k98 and it was really tough closing the bolt...I decided not to pull the trigger on that one...

Yeah I never really continued with that bullet to figure it out...just though maybe the bullet stretched the case neck during seating, since I had no problems chambering in the .303/7.62x39/7.62x54r.

I think I'll give it a shot. ;) I figure that if I use 125gr. loads with a 123gr bullet and keep towards the starting loads and up a bit, the pressure should be OK. I bought this rifle for my son and thought he could used the lighter loads to get used to shooting it and then work up to 175gr hunting loads. Happy New Year All !!!
