anyone shoot 25-20?

I have come into a savage sporter in 25-20. I am wondering what it would be worth? What is the ammo worth? anyone interested in such a thing?

Does anyone still make 25-20 ammo?

lets have a look at the rifle. (pics) yeah ammo is still available but not in the big box stores or probably even most country stores.

At Lebaron Sports here in Ontario, Winchester .25-20 ammo is $49.95 per box of 50. So not terribly pricey yet. Remington still makes it too.

I shoot and enjoy my 4 - 25-20s. Much cheaper to reload and they like the cast bullets much more than the jacketted store bought ammo. I have 3 Winchesters and a Marlin in this caliber and they are great varmint guns . Winchester and Remington still make factory ammo. When the runs happen is anyone's guess but when in season you better stock up. Send me a pm and I will respond with my email for pics.

I have a Remington Model 25 in 25-20, sweet little gun too shoot. I also reload for it as it is way cheaper!!!!

I have a winchester model 43 in 25-20 , 2 winchester 92 carbines and a 92 rifle all 25-20 fun to shoot, but reloading is a must.

I have a Marlin pump in 25-20 with a full octagonal barrel. It's an oldie, but has been professionally refinished. Bore is dark, but it still shoots reasonably well, and is a "fun" plinker. It could be a short range varmint or small game rifle, but IMHO there are lots of better choices for hunting. LIke others here, I reload for mine...very economical.

I've got a Savage 23B in 25-20 and a Savage 219 in 25-20, don't get them out to shoot very often but they're a fun little round. Probably the slowest bullet on the market right now but they're fun to plink with.
