Anyone shoot a Brno K1 single shot

A friend has one in .308 and hunts with it.
I have handled it and shot it at the range but I did not do well with it because the stock was not comfortable for me.
As for the rifle itself quality control is excellent, very well made, very light and trim.
I would seriously consider if only with a better fitting stock, but that's just me.

I one of these last weekend for the first time. I was surprised at how small and trim they are. Still a few things that could be improved (a bit crude) but pretty neat little rifle from my first impression.

I have been lusting after one of these in .308 for a while now. The length of pull is absolutely perfect for me.

I made a thread on these and an individual who seemed fairly knowledgeable suggested they were no longer being imported into Canada.

Being both a single-shot fan and a CZ/Brno devotee, I looked forward to finding one of these for quite some time. When I finally saw one (Cabela's Winnipeg) I was completely blown away by how crude and poorly-made it was. Nice wood, indifferent fit and finish, and just a generally "cheap" feel to it. I should clarify that this was a Brno Effect single, in .308. They wanted $1300 IIRC...I might have bitten at half that price, otherwise not a chance.

Anyone interested in these should take a look at the Haenel single shot offered by Wolverine. I got one last year (7x65R) and it's a definite keeper.

I have no personal experience but have read that the Brno single shots cannot hit the side of a barn. Can someone with actual experience report on their accuracy?

I have a BRNO Effect 30-06 half stock, a true BRNO 110 30-06 half stock, and a BRNO K1 Stutz 7x57R full stock.

I have wrote this in previous threads:

With the Effect, I can shoot to MOA or better with good handloads (not that picky at all, does have a set trigger) and I like it to the point of almost choosing it for a goat hunt....but for the non-rimmed cartridge.

The BRNO 110 is a better made rifle as it was from the old BRNO days. Shoots like the Effect, (does have a set trigger) but again, a non-rimmed round that may cause issues is not my choice for a remote hunt with no back up. If either of these 2 rifles were in a rimmed round, I would not hesitate to use it in a remote hunt.

The BRNO K1 Stutz full stock was MOA or slightly worse at 100m out of the box with RWS ammo.
I did my best to improve it with abundant loading and messing around with the front sling swivel screw that also holds the front barrel band. I made it a lot worse...a lot.

After lots of loads and some channel work as well as isolating the front swivel screw to try to prevent pressure on the bbl, and learning it is hard to resize rimmed brass deep enough to get the brass to seat easily to allow the closing of the action, and learning to learn to love slower speeds with heavy bullets,.....I got it back to moa or so while using sandbags and not letting the barrel to wobble while squeezing the trigger.
Factory RWS is still the best for accuracy.
The trigger is not the best - good - but no set available, so it is not the best for such a short rifle. The trigger is quite crisp, with a very little creep, but about 5 pounds.
If I had the time I would try and figure out the trigger and maybe that would be most helpful. I do love set triggers on my other BRNOs for distance shooting.

I liked the K1 enough (and being a BRNO nut) I ordered one K1 Stutz each in 9.3x74R and 6.5x57R but after a 2 year wait was advised that no one is interested in bringing them into Canada, not even on a special prepaid order basis.
