Anyone shoot Sniders?

Back about 1938-9, I knew two young guys in SW Ontario who had uncovered a stash of Sniders and cases of original .577 ammo, brass/paper rolled. This stuff had been strategicly placed by the Government for the use of the local militia in case the Fenians again invaded from the USA.
They would go out and alternate, taking standing shots to se who wiuld say "uncle" first. They shot up hundreds of rounds.
The same pair after 1935 scoured the countryside buying up old pistols and when WII started, they left trunk loads of pistols. Unfortunately, I was too young to get in on the action.

Anyone who wants their Snider to shoot well should talk with Kerry Jenkinson BEFORE you buy molds and dies. Kerry has been shooting Sniders for decades. He tells me that some of the dies out there are not made correctly. I had the same problem with dies for 12.7X44R - the dies were way too tight.
Kerry is a wealth of info on the subject and is a great fellow to chat with.

Kerry PH# 1-250-442-5718 ask him for the dies without the bottle neck if he has them . his little bal-let mold shoots great in the three band some of the best accuracy can be had from a 590 -600 round ball with lighter loads. Kerry put a new 577 barrel on a martini action so I now have a Martini in 577 snider and it shoot very well.
