Anyone shoot the Mirkou Winchester 1885 rifles

I have had three of the Miroku made Winchester low walls all have been very accurate. 22lr , 243 win and 6.5x55. I sold the 22 and my daughter appropriated my 243. It was the best of them, factory and handloads both shot sub MOA groups. So only the Swede is left and so far it seems to prefer 130 grain Accubonds. I haven’t shot it past 100 yards but it’s .75 so far. I keep meaning to try some different OAL’s but it’s minute of whitetail now and I never seem to make time for it. I also have had a couple of the older Browning made Miroku’s over the years. They were 243 and 22 hornet, foolishly I let them go, they were shooters as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another.

I have a 223 it is a excellent shooter also 6.5x55 I have only fired a few hand loads out of it 140 gr accubonds loaded for moose hunting just bought a hi wall in 30-06 haven't even fired it yet
I would like a 22 Lr or 22 mag maybe I will find one in the future
Out of the box they out shoot my number 1's

I bought a 1885 Trapper Carbine in 45-70 and am very satisfied with the accuracy and velocity that I get out of that short barrel, it shoots way better than my abilities. My only complaint is it doesn't carry very well, meaning the balance point is somewhere on the finger lever instead of ahead of it. Other than that I have no complaints. D.H.

I have one chambered in 7mm and had it reamed out to a 7mm STW. That thing is a tack driver but not a gun I carry too far, I use it for sitting on fence lines. or areas where I might need to reach out. I haven't shot it in awhile and have thought of selling but never got around to it. I'm not sure op means by new. I also have in 17, 25-06 I think it's a B96. They all shoot extremely well.

I do not believe the Trapper Carbine was offered in 30-30, however Prophet River did have them in 30-40 U.S. which is a pretty good all-round chambering. They were also made in 38-55 Win.

Yeah as far as I know, they were available in 30-40, 38-55, & 45-70. Epps has a used one in 38-55 listed online, or at least did a few days ago.

Chris.

I had a .38-55 Trad Hunter a decade ago: it shot quite well. Handloads with Barnes .375" or .377" over RL 7 or H4198 into about 1.25 MOA, and factory ammo to about 1.5 or so.
