One of our dealer have in stock those revolvers, in 5 inch and 8 and 3/8 barrel lenght, any recomendation between the 2 barrel lenght, myself is drawned to the 5 inch barrel... The fact that you can shoot the 45 Colt/ 454 Casull and the 460 S&W is a big +... Buying a 45 Colt is the next step on my list so i have interest here... Thanks... JP.

They are a hoot. Shot 2 different guns and they are an experience. I am too cheap to own one but they are a lot of fun, fireball muzzle blast. Hope you buy one with a muzzle brake, otherwise the recoil can be brutal.

The ones available come both with 2 differents muzzlebrakes, one for lead bullets and one for jacketed bullets... JP.

I've shot them numerous times, but it's not something I'd personally own. They're cool, they're big and they're impressive, but for me the overkill component for punching paper or smashing gongs is laughable.

Your question is about barrel lengths so I would say to go with the 5", compensator or not, longer barrel or not this thing and it's big brother the 500 are beasts that simply can't be tamed (not by me anyway). If you're getting a revolver that pounds the user almost as bad as the target, you may as well get one that you could holster on your hip!? A 460 or 500 with an 8" barrel would make a Colt Walker look like a pea shooter:eek: (I swear I saw one with a 10" barrel...the F...ker comes with a sling!)

You bought a 44 magnum Desert Eagle instead of a 50AE.......
Now you want a 460 S&W instead of a 500 Magnum......

Your man card has officially been revoked. :p

I like this one because, it's like getting 3 revolvers...45 Colt/ 454 Casull/ 460S&W and 44 mag is one of my all time favorite caliber, if i want to be more manly, nothing is stopping me of ordering a DE 50 cal barrel and accessorys... JP.

what about a 500mag and 700gr mold :)

i should start a challange to shoot 50 rounds of the 700gr = 5lbs of lead :) but i still want a 460 to load some super loud rounds that the 500 won't be able to do.

do you reload caramel, i can't remember?

So money must be running tight if you aren't buying one gun for each caliber. :p

No other gun that shoots 45LC can come close to the feeling of shooting an 1873 SAA

You are right. I'm too cheap too. I have a 454Casull BFR To feed this thing is not cheap It more entertainment at the range to see fireballs and have the walls shake. If you hunt with it in the US you would have a blast, To shoot at wild boar more than 50 yrds That's up to you, If your a good shot. But to shoot at the range. you will have a blast shooting these canons Go for it you will have fun with it. For me . I think i would shoot it single action I shoot my Redhawk in 44mag with hot loads in single action, I'm a whimp thats me. You can shoot mild loads in 45 colt and shake the range with those hot loads. I don't own the SW. A great gun I have the BFR .Open your wallet. When you want to light it up.

Yes i do... JP.

It's like getting smacked in the face with a pillow! Love it!
45LC is very much manageable,
454 is all day fun!
460 is a blast for a dozen rounds or so, And great to get attention at the range...

I have a 460V. I love it. I've shot .45 Colt, .454 Casull and .460 S&W Mag through it. It's manageable. It's a hell of a lot harder on the folks around you than the shooter.
The longer ones look great, but I would only buy that if we had a metallic sillouette range or something like that. The V is a good balance in my opinion.
I have all the dies for reloading each cal. but I've only loaded starting loads of each and haven't measured the velocity yet.

The X frame revolvers are a handful. If you have small hands it may be an issue. Personally, I want to handle a gun like that before I decide to buy it. Maybe not shoot it, but certainly handle it.
