A few observations on this thread.
The nice thing about PCC was that we could shoot the exact same stages as handgun. Set up one match and both disciplines play.
With Mini Rifle, it's close - but the steel has to be different calibrations so that can toss a wrench into the plans.
Mini Rifle is getting a little traction in BC, Manitoba and Ontario right now.
The Handgun Black badge allowed the graduate to shoot all disciplines; HG, MR, PCC and SG.
The PCC Black Badge allowed a graduate to shoot Mini Rifle and / or PCC.
A Shotgun Black badge is in development this year.
The Idea of the separate BBs are so that people without handguns can play too.
If someone is running combined PCC and Handgun BB courses; they are breaking IPSC Canada NTO rules. The two official courses are significantly different (Ie PCC is all mini targets, handgun is full targets) and the graduates of the course risk not having their certification recognized.
Please don't do that.
Keep in mind that the only bans that can be backed out via OIC with a Conservative government are December 2024 and this month's. The OIC from 2020 got enshrined in the law that banned the sale of handguns and a new law is required to back that one out.
PCC was a significant growth direction for IPSC in Canada. The OICs killed it; but if we can get some freedom back - it will be pushed again - bigtime.
