anyone still useing SP83 from higginsons

G0t back into relading, pulling out all the powder and stuff from 6yrs+ ago.

This is what I remember. Who's g0t load data that's w0rked good for them

147 lead rn. 3.3grs. F0r 1050fps
124 tmj rn. 4.0 fps. ??

I still have a few pound of SP83, I use it mainly for 357 mag.

I have some of this left from like 10 years ago lol!

My 10mm loads at the time.

SP83 - 180gr bullet
6.8gr =1031fps average
6.1gr =991fps
5.6gr =912fps

SP83 - 200gr bullet
6.0gr =977fps average

I like to load up some .40s&w with this stuff to use it up, I wonder if anyone has a recipe?

Similar to Herco if I recall.

"Similar to Herco" was how Higginson described it.

I use as Unique or so in revolvers.

Armco tested it in 45 ACP and found it didn't burn completely; can't remember about other calibers but I saved the page somewhere...

I'm not too happy Higginson didn't drop these data in my order, along with the 7lbs of Lil'Gun that were in it...

I just found out that mine had turned bad; rusty on the surface and with an ammonia-like smell. Be careful and don't use if anything is looking or smelling wrong.

P.S.: The cardboard box was falling apart too, unlike those of other powders.
