I finally have a spot to try out Coyote hunting, and the only gun I have that can do the job right now is my T97. The person that has invited me has had them as close as 75 yards but on average, between 200 to 300 yards out. I would try and draw them in closer, maybe 150 yards max to keep it more likely I can make a good kill shot. Anyone using theirs for hunting, and if so, what is your ammo choice and how far out are you shooting?

I've used mine twice for hunting coyote in Alberta on my property outside of Calgary. Nothing special in the ammo department, just surplus 5.56 Norinco 55 grain. I've tagged both yotes at under 200 yards running a FTU and Nikon P223 optic.

Any gun will work as long as you can consistantly hit the kill zone. Practice will tell you what your max. effective distance is.
