Hey has anyone tried this ammo? It's described as:

NORINCO 7.62X51 M80 NATO Ball Cartridges

145 Grain FMJ

Bimetal Copper/Steel-cased, NON-CORROSIVE

I assume it's not reloadable, but anyone shot it? seems pretty cheap.

Yeah -- It's acceptable, maybe even good. I haven't tried it side-by-side with better commercial stuff, but for surplus ball ammo it will definitely do. I've put a couple of hundred rounds through my Norinco M14 and Ruger Scout and had no problems. Someday when I can get a rifle range to myself, I'll put my guns on a rest and really see what it can do. No, it isn't reloadable.

I spoke to a guy at the Calgary Gun show last week who told me he found the Norinco ammo to be wonderfully consistent and accurate in _his_ guns. He wasn't trying to sell me anything, so maybe he wasn't blowing smoke...[shrug].

A friend and fellow CGN'er lets me shoot some through his M14 if I ask nicely, seems to be working well for him if there had been problems with it I am sure he would have mentioned it. Accuracy wise I can't comment as me and him typically just rough zero then shoot at gongs or other makeshift targets.

It smells a little funny but not as bad as eley .22. I only shot 5 rounds at paper to determine the accuracy was " good enough" for bulk/surplus. No missfires but I've had a couple of short strokes in my Shorty (might be a gun issue, its new).

I have shot 520rnds of it through my m14 in the last 1.5 months. Haven't had any problems at all with it.

Ammo seems consistent enough (can't say the same for myself though:p)

My mistake. It is magnetic, but it is lead core, steel jacket with a copper wash

I bought a bunch, I like the quality and I like the price.

Do you have a lot of this stuff CanAm? I still wish I had bought more non corrosive 7.62x39 before it was gone.

My M14 likes this stuff, but it's pretty dirty compared to other brass cased factory ammo I've shot. I'd buy it again for the price.
