I thank god every day my wife has got into shooting.

"Oh look honey. TSE has a good price on SA surplus. Do you think we should get a few cases during Christmas while we are in town visiting relatives?"

Um- let me see now...

Time to buy em cheap and stack em deep.

You lucky bastard! :)

sa...

just playing arround with SA and my m305 with a Holosite.. about a 4-5' group at 100y... but I dont know how well i would do on a real scope. I am sure it is gonna do better than that. I was lining in the scope.

I've got about 2,000 rounds of the SA .308. I've shot about 200 rounds from my M14 without a single problem.

It was the first time I had shot a lot of ammo other than 5.56 or 7.62X39 - what a blast (pun intended):runaway:

Go get some.

the best results got with Norinco 7.62....stable up to .0.8MOA...
Portugees gave me 1.2 MOA and stove pipe problem...
South African 7.62 - no problems at all, about 1MOA....like it....
regards

Is anyone getting a hold of SA 5.56 these days? (In Canada I mean...)

I havent seen it in a while. When it was around I didn't think it was any better, or cheaper, than the American Eagle .223.

Actually I get better groups with the AA .223.

I have been using factory ammo since I got my rifle. I would love to pick up a case of SA .308 ammo, but shipping it to NL is a killer.

I don't know. WWB 308 retails about $150/200 out this way. I'd reckon the SA would come in at lots less, even with shipping. YMMV.

I bought 700 rounds from TSE for $45/140, it had better shoot! Bought some SA 7.62 a couple of years back and it shot consistant 1" groups from my Rem. 700 Police.

Port and SA have run very well through my norky. Probably at around 200 rnds now and haven't had any FTF/extract/eject issues. Just picked up some of the Canuck military - SNC tech (formerly Industries Valcartier Inc) with headstamp IVI 76. Heard it shoots real nice. Anyway tried it? What did you think?

My wife is just starting to enjoy. Invited her to the range today just to hang out with me and her first comment was "Why can't I shoot?". "I never said that honey, didn't know you wanted to, I'll pack the extra gun, lets go. Woo-hoo!!"

She just started shooting my SKS and doesn't much care for it so I'm thinking about building her an AR-15/M-16 for her very own. (Other than the days that she is at work and I borrow it, of course.)

quite awhile age I tried some of the south african stuff in 223 and never had any problem's with it.it was berdan stuff also . the way I look at it is they have been shooting people down there so they should have alot of practice making ammo but you still could get a bad batch from anywhere. so if in dought have a good look at it before you shoot any.

I've got both SA surplus and portugese. It feels like the port groups a little tighter but I haven't put my scope on yet. The SA is still good stuff, although the crate stinks so bad my wife won't come into my office anymore... not that that's a bad thing.
