Anyone tried Type 81 PLA compact 3x scope?

I have one. I dont know if its legit or not. It's so awful I just had to laugh when I unboxed it to take a picture for this thread. The reticle / glass quality / dark blue tint and field of view is so bad. I haven't tried firing it with it attached to the rifle but I don't expect it work very well. Tried to get a picture of the reticle if anyone is interested . Also unsure if it has night vision settings or if its just broken. The brightness adjustment turret has 1-5 seperated from another 1-5 settings but with one of the sets there is no visible illumination

It is broken, adjustment works the same way in both directions on mine. Reticle is the same shape is yours, but it is pretty crisp and clear. And I agree on the FOV part, it is pretty limited. I never had big expectations on the ergos and looks subjects since it's a 30-yr old Chinese milspec scope design, the only thing that is important to me is if it holds zero.. and I'm going to test it soon.

Good to know. Figured it might be broken. I think it looks cool at least lol. Report back with how it holds zero. I have mounted mine and it seems pretty iffy.

OK, so you guys were right - the mount is garbage and doesn't really hold zero. On the other hand, I quite liked the scope itself. The reticle is pretty comfortable and clear, I was able to aim no problem, even the lowest brightness setting was good enough. Eye relief and parallax were not bad as well. Another good part is that the scope can be unscrewed from the mount and reused elsewhere. So eventually I'll am going to attach an AK side mount to the LMG and find a way how to mount this scope onto an AK Picatinny side scope mount. Or buy that new TI mount if it is not going to be based off the same rivet clamp design. So this is not the end for this scope lol. The LMG can shoot solid 3 inch groups @ 100yds with Czech surplus, so I guess making it work is worth the effort.

Do u mean that it doesnt hold zero even while shooting ? Or that it simply doesnt return to zero after removing and then reinstalling ?

It was somewhat holding zero while shooting, but I couldn't get consistent tight groups similar to the ones that I get when shooting with irons.. but then I removed it and tried to reinstall back.... and then it was completely off. So no wonder that Chinese military refused to use it. And that's quite unfortunate because the scope itself is not bad at all. Well, I ordered a side mount on ebay.

The rail on top is removable, so I'm going to spend some time with a dremel and hand drill and attach the scope to it. I already messaged a site sponsor if they can help with installing AK side mount plate.

It's a huge piece of junk. Don't waste your money if you are looking for a functional scope for a type 81. It's not friendly for any eyes lol

I have a legit one. It will come in a styrafoam clamshell, with a camo pouch, and a Chinese military manual. Google translate is your friend, though it comes out as "chinglish". Mount is odd, mounts onto rivets as stated, but snug when properly set up. NOT a quick release design, wouldn't count on it holding zero after removal for cleaning. Reticle is as shown up above, and the manual explains it well, with hold over, ranging marks, and windage for sideways moving targets. Some of the brightness levels are for night vision (not visible to the naked eye). Field of vision is fairly poor, as is the glass clarity. Eye relief is very close, which explains the classic Com bloc rubber accordian you place your eye on. I bought it just to be authentic, and I did with one of my Type 97's wearing a Chinese military scope. Neither is great in my humble opinion, but I have no intention of it being my "go to" rifle so...
