Anyone try CFE 223 yet?

yup picked up a pound last week,tryed it in my 308 with the 185 grains and my 223 with the 80 and 90 grain bullets.accuracy seems to be quite good,meters very well being a fine ball powder.with the limited amount of rounds that i have fired shows that it is pretty dirty,will be testing some more today.

shot some today in my 223 with 77gr Nosler hpbt. Didn't shoot for groups but the speeds were good

will do some ladder loads at 1/4 mile and see how it goes

Tried it in my 222. Came up with some good loads, and one very good load. Velocity is excellent, spitting 50gr bullets out over 3200fps. I never really inspected the barrel for fouling after. I only ran 50 rounds through it.
I plan on trying it in my 260 as well.

I am using it in my 223 and my kids sks. Minor fouling, nothing more then normal. With the 223, using 55gr, my groupings at 100m all within 2 inch, most within 1, and I wear glass using a scope. My kid (sks) using open sights at 1oom mostly 2 inch groupings, with the odd stray.....velocity speeds, unknown as I dont have a chrony.

I have had better results with 190gn SMK's in my 308 with CFE223 than with 168amax's. I will be posting results hopefully by the weekend if things go well with weather here.

Where does the burn rate fall? Hopefully it will be good for the heavier 223 &308 bullets.

Slower than Varget. But I found it to be pretty dense, filling 3/4 case capacity with 190gn SMK's. I am also trying it in a 223 with 80gn SMK's, fills about 80% case capacity.

Accuracy is repectable, but I am very early in my testing.

Edit:

It Just occured to me that one could run heavier bullets in a 223 and be mag length and not have to cut back charge weight. That could be very beneficial.

Can't speak for velocity but its produces good groups for me,

That's pretty decent for a stevens. If its still somewhat unmodified.

Only mod is a rifle basix trigger . have also got some good groups with 40 gr v-max and a max charge of H335.I am now playing with some 75gr a-max and varget best group with that combo so far is just over 1 inch.
