Looking for thoughts on Scenar .30 cal 167gr HPBT's.

Have read lots of good stuff regarding the 155gr but not much about the 167gr's performance.
Thanks guys.

"...the 155 gr..." That bullet weight is required for Palma Matches. That's why there's lots of info.
Scenar's are a Lapua brand name. Haven't used 'em myself. Lapua stuff is too expensive. However, a 167 grain match bullet should work just like a 168 grain match bullet.

Our 1000+ customers consider Lapua products as priced reasonably. An ex-Royal Marine sniper customer who lives in B.C. called today, suprised at our low prices.

The Lapua Scenar 167 will shoot to longer range over the Sierra 168MK, although it is not necesarily more accurate, as the latter has long been the standard.

Trying various types is the only way to determne which works best in your rifle.

Peter

I shoot both the 155 and 167gr. Lapua's. I like the 167gr. HPBT's, as sunray says they perform roughtly the same as a SMK. I load it with my standard 168 load, 44gr. Varget, the 167gr. bullets goes about 2670fps at the muzzle. I've only grouped them out to 200 yards, but in my custom 700P I was averaging less than half an inch at both ranges for five shot groups.

Good bullets, not that expensive compared to other match bullet on the market, but you get what you pay for in life.

Give Peter a call and he can help you out, he's a great guy.
