So,I got one to help with my affliction for all things Beretta 92 as a variant thereof...My research into them seems to say that they are decent guns, but some don't like them, and reliability issues are there...sorta...Are the springs about the same as a 92,.?..(got lots)..any other parts similar?..

I have a PT-101 from way back when taurus had good QC. As far as I know, other than a beefier slide it's the same as the Beretta 96. Same is true for the 9mm versions. My brother in law had a 92 and a 96 when I bought my 101. We didn't try to swap a lot of parts but what we did try worked fine.

There was one that was used as a rental at a local gun club back a number of years ago, that had fired many thousands of rounds without any breakages; it's reliability was pretty impressive.

The fact that the slide wasn't weakened to add the safety like the Beretta's is a big point also.
