I'm contemplating replacing the factory rear semi-buckhorn on my 16" R92 with a Marbles Bullseye sight, curious to know if anyone has done so and if they had to also replace the front sight to make it work? What height front sight did you go with if you replaced it? I'm not opposed to replacing the front sight either, I don't overly love the brass bead, I think I'd prefer a white bead or even just a square post but if it doesn't need to be replaced I might keep it on, at least to see how I like it with the Bullseye sight.

I also see there are two lengths of the rear Bullseye sights available, from what I can tell both would work and seem to offer the same elevation adjustments but the long would offer a very slightly longer(to the point of being negligible) sight radius? Am I missing something here?

Rossi forums has a lot more information on these rifles, including the differences in generations, sight heights for each barrel length, ect. I have one of the early ones in 44mag 16” and found nail polish did the job for low light conditions, like bear over bait @ 60-75 yards.

I went with a Marbles tang sight on my 20" 454 Casull. I had to drill and tap the upper hole for the sight but that was easy.

I agree on the recommendation to check out the rossi rifleman forums, any question you have will be answered there.

I put the bullseye sight on my 20” 357. Used the long one with a new front sight same height as factory. Works good. Depending on your load and distance you might have to change it slightly but I’m right in the middle with light to medium 357 loads at 50 yards.

The 16" has a pretty short sight radius if you stick with the barrel dovetail for a rear sight. You can also consider one of the receiver mounted aperture sight options. Or tang-mount as noted above.

A few years ago when I had a Rossi, I put a Skinner barrel mounted peep sight on a 16" barrel carbine. I liked it at the time but I am not sure how I would like it now. Since then I have had a few receiver mounted peep and ghost rings on different rifles, if I was to get another Rossi [unlikely] I would probably look at a tang mounted sight.

A friend has one. He added rear aperture that works great. Fast site picture and a fun little rig. Not sure of the brand but I believe they are the XS, same as in the previous post.

Shell Shucker, your RH's are truly lovely, well done! I put a Skinner rear sight on my stainless 44 Rossi, miss that rifle...
