I am almost out of Sierra MAtchkings for my 260 and i was going to increase the weight from 120 to 140 garins. While Iw as looking around, i saw that Nosler is now making their competition bullets in 6.5 in 140 grains. Has anyone used the Nosler comp. bullets? How would you compare them to the Sierra Matchkings? The most important question is can you get them in Canada?

they're ok. didn't try them enough to give them a thumbs up or down. for the price you can get them in the US they're a great bullet for the price. in canada you might as well spend the money on a much higher quality amax or lapua scenar. matchkings have gone way up in price. too much for me.

I have found that the 69 grain version shoots extrememly well in all my .223's. I load it over W748 and CCI 450 primers. Rainer Shine in Lancer, SK imports them. I don't think he is a site sponsor, but he also doesn't strike me as the computer type. Great guy though.

The 155gr Nosler CC in 308 have hit a 1422 yard target 20" X 30" - 4 times in a row, using Varget.
Generally they perform well with a 1/2 MOA shooting rifle.
The 69gr Nosler CC in 223 have touched targets at 933 yards. The Savage 12LRPV shoots them 1/4" at 300, under 2" at 500, using IMR 4064.
I haven't found them in Edmonton in 6.5 cal yet.
I do like Nosler CC's though!

6.5mm 140 gr Nosler BTHP I have just started using in my 260. First load attempted, 46.0 grs H4831sc & F210M primer, 2740 fps avg and 1" group @ 166y, 2" 4 shot group @ 240y. I think they will shoot!

The 69gr version shoots good in my .223

Ditto. 25 grains of Varget, W-W case, Win WSR primer. First 2 shots touching at 200m and third 1/2" away! Rifle has a 1 in 8" fast twist (Tikka) and an Elite 4200 6-24x40 Mildot side-focus scope. Groups were as good at 200m as 100m.

are you guys sorting bullets by weight before loading them? I found the 30 cal 168 J4's to vary up to .8 of a grain on my dillon eliminator. I have no idea how much this would affect group size, but I do end up sorting them and it's a pain. Also, considering the 168 Amax's were all exactly the same weight it is a bit concerning.

Sorting bullets can be helpful, if you are shooting 10" groups at 1,000 yards and are trying to figure out how to shoot 5" groups. This is actually of concern to some people, but not to most.

But if "all" you to do is to place 15 out of 15 shots into 1.5" at 300 yards, or 4" at 600 yards, or 12" at 1,000 yards, there's absolutely no need to weigh your bullets. (And to keep things in perspective, this performance is good enough to win the national championship in most forms of shooting)
