Anyone use a B5 SOPMOD AR15 stock? Any good?

I had tried to order one back a couple months ago and it was a no go, would not ship that product out of USA let me know if they ship yours.

Damn it, you are right. Wish their website was correct when it said this item was Available Outside USA . Oh well, that's the problem with buying from the states...

Wish a Canadian retailer had the Bravo SOPMOD. Do I dare buy it from IRG after the problem the other poster had ?

I didn't like it on .308 caliber rifles.
When doing load testing from the bench, and when shooting prone off a bipod, I have my non-dominant hand positioned underneath the toe of the stock (on top of my rear sandbag), or between the stock toe and ground. Upon recoil, the rear of the stock latch would dig/bite my hand. Very distracting when focusing on making small groups.
It's not a factor on 223 rifles however.

I found that with any stock that has any ridge or sling stud on the bottom. I don't touch the stock anymore. I squeeze the sandbag slightly instead. Even the sling stud on an A2 stock isn't too good with a 308 if touching the stock with support hand.

For precision I like the A2 and PRS. But the B5 has a decent cheek weld at least. I find I can shoot it benched just fine. Haven't tried prone yet with one.

You're right, it is a technique thing/problem. I end up using my hand under the stock because no matter what I do, I can't get enough elevation on the buttstock to get set on the target.

I couldn't agree more about the A2 stock. More 308 (and 223) AR makers (are u listening Ruger, etc) should make the A2 stock standard on their precision models--so much better than the telescoping ones...

I had a B5 on my Daniel Defense mil-spec receiver extension. Was extremely tight so i returned it.
Then i found a LMT SOPMOD for less than $100. This thing is tight too. I'm wondering if my receiver extension is out of spec. Daniel Defense make high quality stuff so i doubt it.
I've heard that these are supposed to be tough to move on purpose but i can't adjust it to anywhere close to the cocking handle. Anyone else encountered this before?

Normal.

Work it back and forth and it will eventually "break in".

Well that's how I got my Bravo, and it was all scratched/dinged up.

The whole situation is pretty stinky actually... don't know why I'm suggesting you to buy fron IRG actually...

What the frig are these guys thinking shipping like this? They should have gave you another one for free.

Wow. if I received a part like that in the mail i'd lose my #### on someone. It's not exactly an inconspicuous way to ship firearms parts. With that said, how do you like it?

Glad to hear these are really stiff. I have one on order for my DD V7. I much prefer the cheek weld and mounting solutions over my MOE. i know the Bravo is Cheaper than the CTR and nearly the same price as the MOE. (Brownells of course) Might even be lighter as well....

+1. Had the exact same thing on my Daniel Defense when I swapped out the MOE for the LMT SOPMOD. After adjusting the stock a few dozen times, it got noticeably better. Now, whenever I give the rifle a wipe-down, I remove the stock and just wipe the buffer tube with the same CLP damp towel...works perfect every time now. Best of all, absolutely no rattle or excessive play. By far my favourite stock...
