I'm thinking of putting a reflex sight or small red-dot on my 11 year old daughter's muzzleloader. It's just a cheap Traditions Deerhunter and the open sights on it are useless plastic junk. Just wondering if a small red dot or reflex style sight would stand up to the flash of the cap?
Anyone use a reflex or red-dot sight on a caplock?

A lot of people are using reflex sights on guns you would not expect. If you could keep the sight forward away from the smoke and debris from the cap it should work well. I guess see if it can be mounted up where the rear site is. May need a smith to make a mount. Scout rifle style.
