anyone use an electric case prep center for 45 ACP?

No real case prep is required for pistol brass.
For the most part straight walled pistol brass shrinks with every firing which means no trimming ever.
I simply deprime and run through my SS pins wet tumbler.
The only prep I do to .45 is chamfer the case neck whenever I'm using lead bullets which is almost never.

I have an rcbs prep centre although I don't prep my 45 cases with it I do prep my 44mag/spl brass for lead with it and its a real bonus if you are doing rifle brass. don't even want to think about doing it with hand tools yikes.

Prep center is the way to go. Anyone who tells you they don't prep their 45acp brass is foolhardy at best. They prob shoot a cough(glock) cough . Hahaha!

Ok, so aside from cleaning and the obvious size and de-priming, what is it you do with .45 auto (or other pistol) brass that you need a case prep center?

After viewing the youtube demo decided to order one from Sinclair intl. $120US+shipping, use parcel post (don't use UPS, they'll ding you for clearing customs). I just prepped 500 308 cases, have a Dillon power trimmer but have to clean primer pockets and debur by hand which is a pain and tiring. Should have bought one long ago. As others have said don't need to do anything with pistol brass. I load lead and jacketed bullets and as long as the case mouth is flared no problems. I use a Dillon progressive for pistols and a rock chucker for rifle.

as someone else said cleaning the primer pockets is tiring, & a (all be it a neccessary) PITA lol thats why i was thinking of getting one, but im thinkin i can mimick one by using an old cordless drill lol

For getting primer pockets clean on pistol case you could use a ultrasonic cleaner. Pick a interval to use at. I haven't cleaned primer pockets on my pistol cases yet but will use my ultrasonic when I decide it's time.

The case prep center is great saves a lot of time with rifle cases.
