Im thinking of using some Barnes tripped TSX bullets for hunting with my .308 this year.

My 308 is mostly my target gun and ive always used sierra matchking's in it with very good accuracy. I noticed the Barnes even have a better BC. I think they should be a pretty out standing bullet.

anyone use them ? looking for some review.

Just got some in the mail today. Have to put my rifle back together before I can try them out. Stock is enroute...

I've just picked up a selection to try out in my '06 and 308NM. 130gr, 150gr, 165gr and 168gr. I'm also going with the 140gr in my 7x61 S&H. I've just mentioned this on another thread but two guys on site that have been helpful with info, experience and recommendations are todbartel and especially BC Sportsman. It would be worthwhile sending BC Sportsman a PM asking for info. I'm in AB at the moment but plan on getting into some serious TTSX testing when I get back home to B.C.

I use 130gr TTSX's in my .300WSM Kimber and they group under an inch and are nice and flat shooting.
I have yet to take a deer with this rifle but I have no reason to believe the terminal performance won't be on par with a regular TSX...which work damn well !!!

I was a little skeptical on using the 130gr but was informed with the 1:12 twist in my 30-06 Husqvarna featherweight, they should perform very well. Anyway, in both the '06 amd the 308NM, whatever shoots best is what I'll go with. With mt 7x61 S&H, I'll start out with the 140's but I plan to try a couple other weights there as well.

I've used TTSX bullets. Outstanding accuracy and great killing ability.

What are you going to be hunting?

Here is a thread I put up about the 130gr TTSX

I think they would be a great choice in a .308

they should do the same job as a 165gr Nosler Partition, and they are proven killers of big game.

Just be sure you dont' get bogged down in some silly "process" of loading TTSX's. Make sure your barrel is squeaky clean, all copper removed, then work up a load using a ladder method like I did on this thread, and go hunting...

I had a load worked up in about a dozen shots.

So far we have used them on black bear and deer, and results were very good, so give 'er:)

Although the B.C.s are higher than the Matchkings, the TSX and TTSX actually have lower B.C.s in comparison to some other bullets, such as Accubonds, the E-tip etc.The grooves reduce the B.C.As well, the B.C.s listed by Barnes can be rather optimistic at times.
