Just wondering if anyone has fired any of the supposed non corrosive green cased chinese ammo from frontier?

I did yesterday, and am going to again today but noticed some slight red/brown came out on a dry patch this morning.

Anyone actualy conferm its non corrosive? I am going to do a steel test today, fire some casings with the bullets and powder removed against a peice of bare steel. Shoots good though, dirty as hell but whatever.

I don't think the Chinese are using corrosive primers anymore - in fact, I don't think they have since the '70's. All of the copper washed surplus ammo we got from China in the '80's was NC. Canada Ammo would know, he deals direct.

noticed brown/red junk in the bore 1/2hour after firing today(didn't look right away), wonder if its just part of the powder burn or some such thing. also fired a primed case against freshly ground bare steel, and a cz one for controll on the other side... will know in a few days/weeks

No problem with the ammo. I have shot off tons of Norinco 7.62x39 and have noticed the different colored crap that comes out when you clean it. I thought that it was from the sealant they used around the primers and bullets. I have also let guns sit for days after shooting that stuff and never noticed any rust or pitting. I think it is some of the best surplus ammo out there.

yeah no doubt its good ammo, shot a group the couple weekends ago at 100yards that I would be happy with in any sporting rifle with factory ammo(taken a few coyotes in the mean time also!). In fact I was so impressed I bought a second case..... pricy but worth it for the NC factor, and if its going to be this accurate.

Forgot about the bullet sealant, bet ya that's what's happening.
