Anyone Using a 28 Gauge in the Field

Just wondering who else besides myself uses a 28 gauge in the field?If so what do you hunt with your 28 gauge?

I use mine mostly for partridge(ruffed grouse)and rabbits(snowshoe hare).Have used it on ducks in the past from time to time as well.

i use one for the same game as you its my go to shootgun for ruffed grouse just feels like it was made for thoses birds
 
Ahh, yeah! My favourite gauge is the 28, my favourite 28 gauge shotgun is my Franchi Veloce. I have shot grouse, woodcock, pheasants, chukars, and rabbit with mine. Oh yeah dropped a big quill pig with it too last season. I have never felt like I needed more gun for the game I hunt with it. I am going to try field ducks and geese with it soon too...can't wait!

No, because I suck. I need a good, long shot string to be even remotely threatening.
 
28ga

Last year was the first year I used a 28 ga for grouse..a semi..I couldnt belive the patterns it shot on a pattern board. and how effective it was on dog flushed grouse...Last year was the first year for me and the 28...this year will be my first with a CZ bobwhite side by side in 28. It just seemed proper for the cartridge. Love it..cleaned a few barns out of pigieons with it..swings so fast..and "IF" you are on..a real effective shotgun.
